I know everybody's gonna hate me for saying this, but I wasn't born when the Original Transformers stuff came on. The Best Transformers TV Series was Beast Wars/Beasties, but Beast Machines kinda sucked.

No need to worry. Every Transformer fan knows Machines sucked. Poor Writing and bad plot killed it, not to mention the "wtf?" designs beat it to the ground

Now Beast Wars, when that came out, a bunch of G1 fans were skeptical(I wasnt part of em, Scince It was a new transformers cartoon, I was psyched to hear about it. Cause its Trans-freagin-formers).

Beast Wars. Now THAT is how you do a 3D cartoon.

AHh right, I saw these designs a few months ago and thought the same thing. BUT I can't jump to conclusions just yet, I need to watch it first.

and not every fan knew Machines sucked, some people thought actual CG for the show made up for the designs andplot and were blinded by it.
And every Transformers except Armada to come out after Beast Wars has fell down a hole of bad....

I think They should give some rights back to Mainframe and make a new CG Transformers because they seem to be the only ones who know what they're doing!

From what Ive heard, The plot goes back to good ol Transformer roots.

In other words, G1/BW's episodic way. no gotta catch em all crap at all aparently.

The top 10 reasons why this show most likely won't suck:

10. No more "collect 'em all" gimmicks like the Minicons or the Cyber Planet Keys. Just the same wonderful episodic format that hasn't been seen since the Beast Era.

9. There are human supervillains (Before you object, it's not the first time there have been human villains in the TF series...), but they are much easier to take down, and thus make the Decepticons much more threatening. Seriously, it supposedly takes multiple Autobots to bring down just one Decepticon.

8. Tom Kenny manages to pull off a very Chris-Latta-like Starscream voice. Definite plus.

7. Arcee returns, played by her original G1 actor, Susan Blu (who also acted as the voice director for the Beast Era shows and this show.) DEFINITE PLUS.

6. Marty Isenberg, one of the writers for Beast Machines (as well as Teen Titans, Ben 10, and the '03 Ninja Turtles show) will be the head writer for the show. Hey, it's good to have someone who knows the franchise in such a position, right?

5. Optimus, not to mention Grimlock and Lugnut, will be played by David Kaye, who voiced Megatron during the Beast Era and Unicron Trilogy. LOL, irony...

4. Corey Burton (who did many voices in G1) returns to his past role as Shockwave, as well as taking on Megatron's role for the first time. He's a great actor, not to mention a franchise veteran, so you can't go wrong there.

3. Soundwave...has a guitar...that transforms into Lazerbeak. ****ing awesome.

2. In addition to the previously-confirmed Blackarachnia, another BW character may be showing up. Apparently, Kay has dropped one or two hints that the legendary Waspinator himself may make an appearance in the show. The very idea of he and Grimlock appearing together in the same show is kickass, but if he's being voiced by Scott McNeil once more, then I'll never have anything negative to say about the show ever again.

1. WEIRD AL AS WRECK-GAR. Come on, you can't conceivably have ANYTHING negative to say about that, can you?

If you can't find one thing on that list that appeals to you, then...well, I'm sorry, but I find that extremely hard to believe. I too was turned off when I first saw the lone image of the new Optimus, but the more I find out about this show, the more appealing it becomes. As much as I didn't (and still don't) like the new character designs, I agree with some of cyberlink's points. I don't wanna (but would like to) say this sucks just yet because I haven't seen it. As much of a rant I had with my friends saying it will suck, I'm starting to very, very slowly warm up to Optimus Prime's look in his Battle Mode. I like Arcee's new look, it seems to be the only one that matches the style and works. WTF have they done to Bumblebee! He sounds like a girl and transforms into what My Dad and I call a "Lawnmower" car! Speaking of which, am I the only one who sees no point in having a female transformer? I seriously would have picked anybody but the people from Teen Titans to make a new Transformers, how about the team that worked on Avatar? Now that would F***ing Rock! From that trailer, the only thing I really, really liked was the Theme Song it sounded very good and cool! I want an MP3 of that!

I'll give this show a chance, After all when I saw the design for the new Batman cartoon I thought Batman looked like a human rat but now that I've seen it I like that show!

Then again, Tom Kenny's managed to do some pretty creepy voices in the past, so I figure he'll be able to pull off Starscream well.
