The ending of the second movie rapes the end of the manga/anime with a sandpaper condom. Not including Near and Mello was the best desicion in the history of ever

Still I thought L's death was at least a little more inventive than his death in the original manga/anime. I saw these films in Japan (albeit no subs) but I liked the portrayal. Theres a showing of the first movie at a cinema in London and I'm exited to go to see it again. Better than the Saikano movie adpatation that came out around the same time (and also ironically starred Tatsuya Fujiwara's Battle Royale co-star Aki Maeda).

I saw the first one dubbed online, and I will be going to the special screening on May 20. I will watch the second one sometime later.

Agreed with the thoughts on L's death in the movie. That kinda makes me like the live action version better than the manga/anime - a rare occurrence indeed.

One thing I didn't enjoy is that they exaggerated L's sweet tooth a bit much. It made my parents ill.

I think how they portrayed his sweet toooth was sweet. and maybe the lolipop stirring the tea thing was a bit overdone, but it was fuuny nonetheless.

I've seen the other movies and they were both great. I hope "L: change the world " will live up to my high expectations (which it propably will)

first one is mainly just all the eps in one so it pissed me off
what happens in the second movie?

Basically, it's the same as the manga from book 4 to 7, with some changes. Kyomi Takada gets the death note instead of Higuchi, and they shortened and changed the end of the series.

dissapointing yes...... but the upside is L wins here.

Okay, guys, bit of bad news. I was on wikipedia (and I know you can't trust EVERYTHING on there, but they usually have the things for movies)

I noticed a lot of you wanting to know about L: Change the world.

The good news is, all the reviews give it a 4/5 for fans praising the acting, but also for a dragging story line. Apparently it doesn't have the mind games that the first two death note movies did.

Oh, and this is gonna tick off a lot of you. I know it did me. Check this out. Near's in the movie. He's played by Narushi Fukuda. Here's a pic:

Near in 'L: Change The World (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/57/NearChangeTheWorld.jpg)

Oh, and even weirder. Even though Mello's not in the movie (YAY!!!), there's a guy named Maki Nikaido (No pic). Hello? M - N? Anybody see a resemblance here?

I highly doubt anybody expected it to be good. The original Death Note story only worked so well due to having two equal minds competing. L vs a bunch of unknown goobs would never turn out good and deciding to include near at all was a grave error in judgement.

The franchise is dead, they should just stop milking it like a dead cow with an oversized udder.

I don't think they're milking the franchise that much, honestly, and this Near is obviously fanservice since he couldn't possibly be the same Near from the manga/anime (the timeline is wrong).

I haven't seen Change the WorLd, but I am interested in seeing L interact with people who are not his intellectual peer, so I'll see it.
