Who here thinks that putting All the Abridged Series on one DVD would be a good idea? I think that if that happened, they would sell a lot.

Adam
07-18-2007, 01:42 PM
That would be very illegal.

Emeralddragon
07-18-2007, 01:56 PM
Technically its only illegal if they profit from such a venture. Releasing them for free or at a minimal cost that simply covers manufacturing and shipping they can release as many dvds as they like.

Adam
07-18-2007, 02:22 PM
That would be more work for no profit, making it pointless.

wokwoktheskydragon
07-18-2007, 03:02 PM
Actually, Adam, Kroze said that they are doing this for no profit, just to make us all happy (how nice). So, if they feel that it's something they can do, I think they can do it.

We're already allowed to download them (As soon as they're put back online....) then it's just a quick step from there to a CD burner.
So there's really no point to it.
............................. Does anyone even USE VHS anymore?

wokwoktheskydragon
07-18-2007, 04:14 PM
Yes, we are allowed to download them. However, I'm sure I'm not the only one with a terrible computer where it takes an hour to load four minutes of vedio, or who doesn't have the technology to burn them to a CD.

And yes, I do have a VHS player, still, although it's rarely used.

screw the DVD i got the CPU

Well why couldn't they put them on DVD? I'd easily buy "YGO:TAS Season 1" in a heartbeat. And whats this all about copyright? Take Red vs. Blue for an example.

ironically I have everything burned on a dvd...<_<...granted the quality gets destroyed on my 30inch widescreen but its not that bad. Yea its awesome being able to watch it on my TV...

Making DVDs would be a lot more trouble then its worth, you know 4 kids would sue. It wouldn’t matter to 4 kids if if they made no money off of the sale, They would still sue and with there high prised lawyers they would win.
The only way I can see this happing is if little kurboh makes a deal with 4 kids for the dvds.

wokwoktheskydragon
07-18-2007, 07:18 PM
Yeah, LittleKuriboh can make a deal with people to make DVD's. Right? If he did, that would be (insert Yugi's catchphrase here)!

I suggested this on many of LK's video when he first started the series. I'm all for the idea.

Shadow16
07-18-2007, 09:47 PM
I would love to see his episodes on a DVD. Ever since I first watched all of them I've been hoping for it to happen.

boman
07-19-2007, 04:43 AM
...this site is a charity though, so if profits are made it would go straight into the site. wouldn't that mean that no financial gain is made and LK won't get sued?

SparrowSabre7
07-19-2007, 04:46 AM
I have all eps on DVD plus the comment vids, xmas special AND commentary and live performance :D, tho the latter are ripped from YT so appaling quality :P i even made my own cover for the dvd with the LK pictures logo from the movie at the top of the spine :P

wokwoktheskydragon
07-19-2007, 09:10 AM
That's pretty cool, SparrowSabre7, but not everyone can do that, so these DVD's could be for the people who can't or don't feel like it.

MrMissPingu
07-19-2007, 11:29 AM
perhaps when clicking on the hyperlink to buy it would take you to a page asking to donate "accidently"........

SparrowSabre7
07-19-2007, 12:04 PM
Yeah, i still want "Official" ones too :P but i figured since its kinda illegal it was unlikely but i would covet them with my life were they proper dvds :D

Aria
07-19-2007, 12:29 PM
you guys...i think if you want a dvd, just make your own or find a friend who can make one for you, that way you're happy and LK isn't being assrape-sued by 4kids. (pardon my dirty mouth...)

On another thread, somebody mentioned that the most likely scenario was that they could put up a DVD for download with the various extras, which you could then burn onto your own disc.

I've been wanting to start a DVDISO project with the Abridged series...maybe they could supply the better-quality ISOs and you guys could burn them yourselves...

Wait... Finalxflash...you just said that...bleh, my idea included professional menus and the original 4Kids episodes for comparison!

And stuff like Lazy Sunday could be special features for The Complete First Season...I call director position of this project if it ever happens...

ShamanicE
07-19-2007, 11:53 PM
You can fit about 4 hours of retardly compressed video on a DVD.

You could put Yugioh The Abridged Series on one more then likely.

fckedthewrongeyptian
07-20-2007, 12:05 PM
all right, so if they won't let you put it on DVD or if it's illegal or whatever, then why don't you put it on some kinda downloadable package? I know there are torrents and all, but maybe something in one big sweep (not a bunch of seperate episodes).....

Ben
07-20-2007, 01:07 PM
You know, that's ironic, since I got that same idea today.

Matonly1T
07-20-2007, 07:26 PM
How about DVD stickers? so you can burn them onto the DVD and then you put a sticker in the shape of a CD on top of it < <?

CoreyTheAbridgedFan
07-20-2007, 09:36 PM
well, if u look at series like red vs blue and the hater chronicles, you will notice that they are non profit organizations that are here just to entertain us, as is little kuriboh and the abridged series, so it wouldnt be illegal, but i think they should hurry up and make the dvds if they are planning on it, cause who knows wat will happen with the changing copyright laws and stuff.

MizuTakishima
07-21-2007, 12:11 AM
I think everything mentioned here is a great idea, (DVDs, DVD Menus, extras, downloadable packages, etc) but I could never learn how to buy stuff off the internet u_u; (Yes, I'm that stupid) So I wish it was sold in a regular store...

But actually, I really enjoy how it's all for free right now. LK's a freakin' saint!

MemnochTheDevil
07-21-2007, 06:34 PM
Should totally put them on DVD cause that would be Super Special Awesome lol
but seriously they should put them on DVD

Ben
07-22-2007, 09:05 AM
FAR from it. Red vs Blue is a company now, working for the sole intent on money. LittleKuriboh is not, however, and is determined not to make a dime from any of this. The shirts sell for the cost to make them.

Yes, selling a DVD would be illegal. We do not own the rights to the Yu-Gi-Oh visuals. We have the rights to the sound, which is LittleKuriboh, but who would want an Audiobook of sorts of Season One?

By the way, VHS?!?!

Aria

in my mind, the only thing my VCR is good for is recording shows if, for some reason, i miss them. because my cheap-ass parents won't get tivo or whatever.

StormTheRed
07-23-2007, 10:41 AM
I have no idea how to burn to DVD or even if I can... but I'm sure if LK privately sold dvds he won't get in trouble

Bobcat
07-23-2007, 10:52 AM
Yes. Yes he would. Because that WOULD be a major violation of copyright. He operates under the legal murkiness of fair use, but the second you start selling what are essentially pirate DVDs of a TV show with lots and lots of pirated music, even if it's highly edited, that's leaving that murky area and heading straight into illegal.

Matonly1T
07-23-2007, 12:15 PM
Well the DVD stickers thing still wouldn't be a bad idea. You burn the DVD yourself and buy the sticker from here. Maybe it could with a DVD case too.

I'd buy them, even though shipping TO AMERICA might be kinda high.

surprisingly only shipping FROM america is high. Sending stuff there is cheap as hell.

Hm... well, here's an idea, similar to what other people suggested: When you go t AMVhell.com, they have a choice now where you can download the ISO for an AMV Hell dvd, with all of them and some extras as well. Why not just try that?

wolfen54545
08-13-2007, 01:11 PM
why would we make a dvd or vhs when you have a computer?

Filraen

A good solution IMO: release the episodes on divX (or something compatible). I believe most of us have the access to burn standard data DVDs (I'm not talking necessarily about owning a PC with a DVD burner). And also I believe divX player hardware has became pretty cheap nowadays even benig an extra to sombe DVD players.

The other way is releasing as an ISO file for the DVD. Burn the image with your favourite software and you are ready with any standard DVD player.

I believe that it still fair use under those conditions. Please correct me if I'm wrong, Tha only possible issue is the money for the licence of the divX codec for... well, encoding (and that's only in my first idea).

The solution for me? (that is, if I really wanted to display YGO abridged on my TV) 2 cables: a S-Video to RCA (Yellow - only Video) cable and a 3.5 mm stereo to RCA cable (Red and White - stereo sound). However I rarely have the need to use that setup, and I know that is something that you won't need/use very frecuently. Also implies some intermediate expertise in the setup of the computer (multiple screens is not something your average user can do easily).

okay
1) they make tee shirts already
2) who the hell watches things they dl on the tv unless they pirate
3) burn it your self/ find some one to make it for you
4) they make the ygotas free and to make us laugh
5) do it your self
6) this is over.

I made that suggestion a week or two ago. The people who want a DVD get a DVD, and that can be the end of that.

My DVD Player plays Mpeg files so I just downloaded & converted them. Everything except season 2 on 2 discs. It wasnt hard for me it just took a long time. Anyway there should be a pack of files that work for all DVDs that you can just burn on discs and sell cases and covers on the site that say something like Little Kuriboh's Abridged Series.

I would like a DVD as much as the next guy, but quit living in the clouds. I don't think he has the time to render everything together and strike a deal with 4kids (let alone have the cash to do so). Still, a man can dream, can't he?

Jaxed
08-21-2007, 05:34 PM
How about we donate enough money so he can get some of the rights for the visuals so that he can make a DVD?

Turkey13
08-21-2007, 09:59 PM
I hope he knows how to burn onto a Betamax.

4kids would never allow anyone to use the shows they have licensed to become a good product and sold to those who actually enjoy the show.

*random creating own dvd comment*
You know Vista, Windows new operating system, has a dvd creator that copies the episodes perfectly! The quality is amazing, I know I made one! Also if you don't have the OP Vista I think windows 2007 also has it.

haha. I can see it now... YGOTAS: the book on tape version! or just a CD with all of the audio on it that we can listen to in our cars. that would be awesome!

wokwoktheskydragon
09-30-2007, 11:39 AM
...A YGOTAS book? ...Well, there wouldn't have to be any visuals in that... Some things wouldn't be as funny, probably, but it' IS better than nothing.... So.. would making a book be illegal?

noblethief
10-04-2007, 11:54 AM
much as you kids would love the idea. it would be pointless. why would you buy something if you can get it for free?
that and LK would be in more trouble then was with the assclown from youtube. you know who....but if you really want them on a dvd just burn em......illegaly..
this way, nobody gets sued, you get what you want, and everyone is happy

have your cake and eat it too....

noblethief
10-04-2007, 11:58 AM
oh and those who are still saying "but red vs blue got profit out of it" it is because bungie allowed them to do so. if im corrected, bungie has a agrement with them..

wokwoktheskydragon
10-04-2007, 05:24 PM
noblethief, this has been said already, but not everyone can burn them! Myself included. So for those of us who can't, buying them is the only option. Besides, if they were made by someone official, there could be all kinds of extra features. Wouldn't a few bloopers or games be nice?
And two, red vs. blue is not what this topic is about. Take it somewhere else, please.

noblethief
10-04-2007, 09:51 PM
i brought up red vs blue because, many people think this."if red vs blue can make dvd's so can the abridge serries...as long as its non-profitable"
and for dvd's. its too dangerous to do. yes it would be really cool to make dvds, or vhs, or ipods. anything the you can see it on or listen to.

wokwoktheskydragon
10-20-2007, 10:19 AM
Ooh, I recall some words of Kroze. "The Abridged Series isn't on DVD... yet..."
So that appears to mean that they have plans for DVD's... We appear to be in luck.

Ianking
11-07-2007, 06:34 PM
There should juust be some part added on to the site for us to click on. Then it would take us to an area where we could just burn them onto a dvd. This would save large amounts of time with the shipping, handling, lawsuits, banning, ect., people wouldn't have to pay for it, we could watch it wherever we want and we could constantly update it. Overall, this would be super special awesome for everybody!

M3gaUltraChicken
11-08-2007, 06:47 PM
LK could just ask them...I mean yugioh kinda stopped making money like four years ago. I'm sure they'd be glad if it's finally getting some popularity back. I mean, TAS doesn't even make fun of yugioh that much. It makes fun of EVERYTHING!

yugiwithabaseballbat
11-13-2007, 05:08 PM
They would be sued for copyright infringment. Any way why not just burn it on a disk like i did?

KilroyJ
05-05-2008, 01:52 PM
So here's the real question. We've long since established that although LK is on par with Slifer the executive producer, Obelisk the tormentor, ande super mega ultra chiken (all at the same time) it probably would not be worth his time and effort to make DVDs due to all the legal ties.

HOWEVER, if "SOMEONE" were to create a dvd of season 1, and that "SOMEONE" decided only to charge for cost of producion and shipping, would people be interested in that avenue?

If so...does anyone know where "SOMEONE" could get a shit ton of blank dvd cases with two disc slots?

SSY
05-07-2008, 07:58 PM
No. I could find someone to do it though.

Kroze
05-08-2008, 05:12 AM
I would personally ask you not to do such a thing seeing as how even with you doing that, it still could ruin some things for us....
Not to mention, you wouldn't have all the episodes in super high quality to make making a DVD worth it.
And finally, its really not worth the effort for you to do such a thing when there is already a nice ISO of a Abridged Season 1 DVD existing... complete with animated menus and all that jazz!

:P

SSY
05-08-2008, 05:15 AM
Where is the Season 1 ISO?

Juliekitten
05-08-2008, 08:45 PM

SSY
05-14-2008, 05:00 PM
Can you send it to me please?

Kroze
05-16-2008, 01:32 PM
No... for many MANY reasons...

SSY
05-16-2008, 02:08 PM
Do you care to share any of the reasons?

Kroze
05-16-2008, 06:11 PM
You will all find out those reasons in good time...

SSY
05-16-2008, 07:11 PM
You don't have an email account.

Kroze
05-16-2008, 08:48 PM
What do you mean and what does that have to do with the DVD?

SSY
05-16-2008, 08:49 PM
I was just guessing one of the reasons why.

Kroze
05-16-2008, 08:54 PM
No, thats not one of the reasons why...

All the reasons mainly have to do with legal things...

SSY
05-16-2008, 08:55 PM
Okay. If it were legal would you send it out to people?

Kroze
05-17-2008, 01:17 AM
I don't think you get what I am hinting at....
And I will say no more about this matter out of fear of it not happening.

Umbreon
05-22-2008, 12:36 PM

RedvsBlue however has been essentially "OKed" by bungie, which is why they would actually ask them to make certain videos.

If 4kids could, I'm sure they would sue LK into the ground.
