Now for a less heated discussion, hobbies.
most people have them, what are yours?
besides the card games I raise fish, mostly goldfish-I feel they have a lot of charm. neat colours too! I also paint, on paper (small pieces and miniatures, like historical-right now I am painting French WW1 infantry)
I also write, I'm a graphic novel writer (I'm actually published-I don't do silly fanfics here lol)
for fun I am working on all the religion things for the story (the race has a holy book I decided to write to give, I guess a bit of an idea where it goes when they talk about it)
I play the flute too

I really don't think this belongs in serious discussion, but I'll post anyway.

I like drawing, music, reading, retro video games, certain anime, and just thinking about things.

* I also raise fish -- my 10 gallon tank is stocked with 1 betta, 3 cory cats, and 3 ghost shrimp
* Reptiles -- I own a bearded dragon
* Zoology (more of an interest than hobby)
* Forensic Science (more of an interest)
* Writing -- I write poetry, novels, novellas, short stories, songs, fanfiction, and comics, my English teacher who's a novelist, is helping me get one of my novels published.
* I love fishing (I go just about every day)
* Tubing (Family owns a speed boat)
* Reading
* Surfing the Internet
* Hanging out with friends
* Playing video games (mostly retro titles like Castlevania, Contra, Tetris, Super Mario, and Sonic the Hedgehog)
* Traveling (going to Italy and France soon)
* I like to draw (working on a graphic novel right now)
* Making independent films (have won several awards, not big awards though, mostly special recognition lol)
* Making AMVs
* Anime
* Television
* Comics/Manga

I'm making my hobbies sound more exciting than they actually are, but yeah, that's all my hobbies in a nutshell.

The title said hobbies, both big and small, so here goes in no particular order:

Reading
writing (poetry, short stories, and I'm working on a novel)
drawing/painting
singing and playing the trumpet (yay for band geeks!)
anime
hanging w/ friends
Bible study
midaeval weaponry
calligraphy/illumination
book-binding
laughing a lot
telling lame puns...

and many other strange and endearing quirks. :)

oh... and since other people mentioned it... I love peppermint tea!

It makes me happy. :)

I'd agree that this belongs in Random Discussions, however, it doesn't hurt to bring a little bit of calm to what is otherwise a very heated place, so I'm leaving it here...

Now, on topic:

- Playing Guitar
- Photography
- Photoshopping
- Xbox 360
- 3D design
- Writing
- Leading the music in church
- Law
- Writing songs

I also draw occasionally...

I guess YGOTAS forums and IRC are also hobbies, I'm on here enough...

- Chess (I've played since about fourth grade, but never in any tournaments, sanctioned or otherwise.)
- Football (American football mostly, but I still have a soft spot for the world's game.)
- Weight training (I don't "work out." I train.)
- Reading (I have a variety of tastes, but fiction is beginning to lose its appeal.)
- Sleeping (It's a great escape. :D)
- Walking (It almost goes hand in hand with the following.)
- Observing people (I like to people-watch; it reveals so much about people, especially just walking gait and body language.)
- Discussing matters of society, the world, government, economic perspectives (It is stimulating and informative, especially when talking with people of opposing viewpoints.)

I liked the Tau because they used Ion cannons and Railguns... plus they looked more sophisticated and organised. Incidentally I enjoyed the organised, clean and stylish SAS missions on Call of Duty 4 more than the sloppy Marines. I think you can see a pattern emerging here...

The Eldar and Dark Eldar are second to the Tau in that regard IMO...

The humans in 40K are just utter poo...

I dabble in a lot of hobbies. I used to raise hens in my 4H club before I retired (they have an age limit on members) and managed to earn 1st and 2nd place every time I entered my two bantams in exhibition shows. It was a lot of fun, and chickens are very unique in both breed and personality.

I'm a writer, and I've written both original fiction and fanfiction and poetry (school assignment...) that I've posted online. The original fiction I was working on a few months ago only got up to about six chapters before I scrapped it. It kinda sucks that I got bored/stuck with it, because I had a few friends who really liked it. I hate bumming people out like that.

But I'm working on a new one at the moment, and along with my fiction writing class coming up, it should be a good one.

I also do gaming, but mostly adventure type stuff such as Okami, the Zelda series and the Sonic series as well. I have a few other genres here and there, but my favorite genre will always be adventure.

I do a bit of artwork, but it's not all that great. I'm better at painting pictures with words rather than pens and pencils. All of my artwork is self-taught, since I have a thing against doing everything by the book. I prefer to play around and see what comes up when I work with things. Discovery is a lot more fun than following a manual, and you learn more about yourself and your working styles that way.

Nature and wildlife have always been a passion/hobby of mine. Even doing something as simple as walking eases my mind. Studying wildlife and animal behavior is something I've done for years, and there's always new stuff to learn in those fields. Birds are also my favorite animals, especially birds of prey. I hope to one day work with these beautiful animals and educate people more about them.
