I figured this would happen eventually but after NHK came up in the serious discussion forum, I figured I'd open the war zone of series bashing. If you think a series has undeserved praise or recognition, feel free to take it down a few pegs. I've already made known my hatred of Naruto and Bleach so I won't bother repeating myself like an amnesiac, but I will provide my oh, so special insight into what I continually see in people's top favorite animes.

I thought everyone in the show was an unlikable fuck nugget in a McDonald's value meal. My recommender told me he liked it for the character's "realistic personalities" and while I'm certain there exist people like this, it still doesn't mean I want to see a show about them. For instance, why the fuck wasn't there an actual conspiracy happening? It ended up being a delusional fantasy concocted in their heads, in itself not unexpected, but while I thought the idea of an actual conspiracy would be stupid by the end of it I was begging for something ludicrous to happen just to bring some excitement back to this coma-inducing borefest. If you're going to do a "slice of life" show, it has to follow INTERESTING PEOPLE. It drove me up a wall, across the ceiling, and back down the other wall to behold the level of stupidity these cretins beat themselves over the head with. The pyramid scheme segment was something that made me want to reach into my monitor and bitchslap the cunts for being so god damn inconsistent. How do you identify and then carefully spring the obvious trap to avoid dismemberment only to reload the trap, set yourself back inside it and let it splatter your brain matter over the pavement? Did he undergo a lobotomy during one of the scene transitions and I just didn't notice? It even gives us a couple of romantic relationships that end up going nowhere or materializing out of thin air. If I wanted disappointing predictable failure, I'd just pay attention to my own pathetic, non-existent love life.
On another note: I've only seen the english dub however I'm certain the Japanese dub would change my mind. I do want to make note of the incredible amateurish adaptation used for the dub's dialogue. For one: hikikomori. For two: HIKIKIOMORI. What is this? Japanese cock sucking training for budding weeaboos? It's strictly a Japanese word and should therefore be kept in the Japanese dub. It's unnecessary to include it when any number of valid english replacements could be used like "hopeless shut-in" or "social reject" or "porn fetish expert".
