4 Kids is being sued

Sorry if this is old news or in the wrong place. I read a Japanese news blog at LJ and just recently there was a post about TV Tokyo and Nihon Ad terminating their deal with 4Kids on Yu-Gi-Oh!

I will not miss 4Kids; they are the only dubbing company worse than Manga Corps. Those of you who have never seen 80s seinen anime might not be familiar with them; they couldn't even pronounce either half of their own damn name right.

The problem is, I'm not sure anyone else would do an uncut release of Yugioh. I mean, it's kinda' old and, as far as I know, not all that popular with serious anime fans.

Yeah, but I think that's more down to what 4Kids have done to it more than anything else.

I've tried to hate 4Kids, and I am genuinely angry at what they did to parts of YGO. But their YGO is still the one I grew up watching, so I have to love them a little bit.

You do know 4Kids is long gone for OP, right? It's been six years and I just watch the FUNi dub since I have another option. :smug:

Pokemon's the one I have no choice for other than the subs, and it's TPCi to blame for ruining it. :rageface:

Edits and One Piece, though the latter is long gone and has been for about six years now (people keep whining even though they HAVE the option for a different dub of the same material, FUNimation). Edits, not so much, but actually apparently the FCC is responsible for them making many of them. It's still wrong, of course, of 4Kids to do that. :smiley5:

4Kids actually did make uncut version of Yu-Gi-Oh! with FUNimation and it was discontinued after 9 episodes due to low sales in favor of (yep, no joke here, the 4Kids DVDs). The uncut episodes were pretty great too...shame. :( :confused:

The Destroyed a lot of good Shows like Yugioh...Sure they made a uncut version BUT the version they made was so Edited and it went completely to far away from the original (In Japanese) and what is worse is they made it so no one can watch the original anymore (believe me I've checked...20 times or so).
I only get to see the thing once though with original and then POOF no longer there. I am sorry but they ruin good shows!!
