In all seriousness though, this is a really fun show. They have a good laugh with the silliness of some of the game mechanics but they also don't shy away from it and try to keep the story as straight as possible. It's like what you'd get if you put Death Note and The Super Mario Brother's Super Show in a blender. All the seriousness of a murder drama with all the fun of video game mechanics turned dues ex machina plot devices. Wouldn't Death Note be so much more fun if Light Yagami's murderous rampage resulted in a catastrophic global 1-Up Mushroom shortage?

My name is Khaoseru and I want to approve the hell out of this thread.

I love to track the persona 4 tag on tumblr because of the animu. As you said, it's so silly and lighthearted, yet I know some people that really don't like the animu... but I don't really know the reasons.

Besides that, I like the show being somewhat of a supplement to what the game has. It goes a bit in depth about the characters and social links... even though I'm jealous as fuck that Yuu can finish them in one episode. Or finish MULTIPLE links in one episode.

The OP is so... P4-like I ignore the sillyness that is the lyrics. And the ED is possibly the best thing to exist for an ending.

My guess is they are taking the story seriously and completely missed 80 hours worth of "ZOMG U R SO FUNNAH CHIE!" from the game. The pacing of the show is what the game should have had. Yes it's INSANE that he's completing entire sidequests within a 20 minute episode, but honestly, that's much better than the 2-5 HOURS they normally averaged in the game. And you had to do 20 OF THEM.

Haha, that's true. I forgot to specify that it's some fans that played that don't like the show but whatever. I'm okay with everything because hilarity even when there shouldn't be.

Like the latest episode. But then it got so super srs I almost wanted to tear up for a character.
