This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

it's just that, i read about on'yomi is the older reading of the kanji back when the Chinese influence was a lot more apparent than it is now

and i know about kunoichi, but really? katakana, hiragana, AND kanji? would you mind if i come over there and slap whoever thought to do that?

usually kunoichi is also in full hiragana or katakana, even if its meaning is actually using all of them [hiragana.katakana and kanji]

i dont know if it interests you, but also female ninja is also called ku-no-ichi [ ku in hiragana no in katakana and ichi [kanji] together form the kanji of onna [women]
so kunoichi is woman, but is only used to refer a female shinobi

what? i dont think i understand what you said , but both readings are correct and japanese, shinobi would mean to do something hiding, and ninja is the person who does that.
shinobi also is used to refer the person who does that, like ninja, but its meaning is not the person who does that, just the act, it just was used as ninja for some reason more like a name, i dont know very well that part of ninja/shinobi to explain the reason
but i still like shinobi more

also, less kanji is preferable for me since i never did pick up reading those things too well

so wait, the Chinese-influenced sorta-kinda-archaic reading's more common? wait, does this have to do with ninja being the more common word in the west? i know some weird stuff can seep over (KFC, anyone?) >.>

mostly kids say ninja all time here, but i always think that shinobi is better, if you ask me which is more common id say ninja because only young people say ninja now.
but i still think shinobi is better , shinobi???is just one kanji , ninja is the kanji of shinobi + kanji of people
