This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

Will do, as soon as I get around to resetting my password. I'm kind of sort of terrible about remembering those things, :v.

    DerpEdit:

Though, um, what's your KoL name?

That's a pretty refreshing point of view. And I'm glad you're on board with the 'they as a neutral singular pronoun' bandwagon. You don't even know how glad.

I couldn't agree with you more. The general principal of being intentionally distinct from the world (while still interacting with/influencing/etc it) is a topic full of fuzzy, very context-specific borders. I mean, Paul uses the Greek equivalent of "shit" to make a strong emphasis on an important point in one of his epistles. However in all of those various circumstances, a Christian should be careful never to meld with the status-quo around them [I propound the gender-neutral singular pronoun 'they'] in order to fit in: i.e. swearing because the people they know swear (especially if they are in a place where some people prefer an abscence of swearing and even more especially if those people know that the Christian is a Christian).

I would like to posit something in reply to your post in the O.M.G. thread.

That is, the fact that some language is "negative" does not necessarily mean that it cannot be Christlike. Negativity depends on context, and even from the perspective of a Christian, sometimes you will need to say things that others will perceive as "negative".

One example of this, in action form, would be a Christian visiting a brothel or other sin-identified place and spreading the word there. Many would view that dubiously at best.

I feel the intent and context is more important than the technical language based on that line of thought.
