Forum Game Rules

Okay, folks. Here are some of the rules for forum games!

1. Be sure to check to see if the forum game you want to make isn't already made. No repeats!

2. Don't flame others or anything like that.

3. If you want your game temporarily locked or taken over, PM either one of the forum games assistant moderators (me) or a full mod. The former we can do. As for the latter, we'll have to see.

4. No cybering or sex games. You can kiss, cuddle, or hug, but keep it at a PG-13 level!

5. Because it might be needed, the Ban the Name Above is just for fun. No one's really getting banned.

6. Follow the other rules of the site.

7. Be a good sport. Don't be a jerk if you're going to win or have won, and don't be emo if you're going to lose or have lost.

8. Have fun! After all, these are forum games.

9. Don't take the games too seriously. They are, after all, games on the internet, and sometimes people will be jerks (or a word of your choice), but if we banned all the people on the site who are sometimes jerks, we'd have no one left. Keep in mind that there may be some level of joking around and roleplay involved in these games. Some games involve players voting to remove other players as part of the game. If you take offense to this, then you might not want to play these games.

10. NEW If you're not part of a forum game's round, don't post during that round. Wait until it's over before posting.

If you need a quick refresher on the main site rules go here: http://forum.yugiohtheabridgedseries...ead.php?t=5013

If you want to get to know your assistant mods better go here (Masty) or here (Sally)

Would I be allowed to bar someone from participating a round that I host in a game for any reason?

It depends on the situation.

Eia 07-12-2009 10:40 PM

.... Do you two even play forum games? D:

WeirdSmells 07-13-2009 09:27 PM

Do I need to get approval from someone to make a forum game?

Not anymore, I think.

Fat1Fared 07-14-2009 03:35 PM

Masty not to tell you how to do your job, but I was made to wait several mouths, before my game came out, as had to have it moderated (there was reasons for that, so not complainning) the point is, we are suppose to get pomisson, though have been few poeple you have got through net

WeirdSmells 07-14-2009 03:38 PM

Both Masty and Ed said no.. so I'm just gonna go ahead and hope the best.

MarioMaster3000 07-14-2009 03:40 PM

Yeah, I remember it was stated back on the old version of this site that forum games don't need approval anymore when it got its own forum separate from the Random Discussion forum.

Of course, I could be wrong...

Fat1Fared 07-14-2009 03:50 PM

fair enough, I'm just going on what happened with me (you know I think we need a sub mod for this area)

EdBat 07-14-2009 04:11 PM

There's no point in forcing people to get approval now. If it's not appropriate, it'll just get locked.

HolyShadow 07-14-2009 07:38 PM

I think someone who plays forum games regularly should moderate this instead of you two. Just my two cents. Neither of you seem to know how to handle things properly here.

Not meant as an insult, of course.

WeirdSmells 07-14-2009 07:44 PM

True... maybe...

... I kind of agree with this statement. >_> But I suppose you should be given the chance to prove yourselves.

EdBat 07-14-2009 09:40 PM

Both Masty and I watch forum games. If any issues arise, you can PM us. Plus we aren't the only moderators in this subforum. The regular mods (as in DA and JR) also moderate this subforum.

HolyShadow 07-14-2009 10:01 PM

Watching and playing aren't the same thing. Sign up to some and play. It'll help confidence in you.

Don't have time. I actually feel it's better to for me to not participate so I can be objective. Not to mention I've been modding this subforum for weeks. Why is it all the sudden now an issue?

Because mods should be active in the forums that they moderate over. How would not participating make you more objective? That's a cop-out answer.

If you don't have time, then hand it over to someone else. Though, seeing you around a lot recently, it seems you do have plenty of time to play games like DNTFG, even not completely actively.

EdBat 07-14-2009 10:18 PM

Ah, but I am active in this subforum. Usually I'm surfing like 80 different pages at once, or getting ready to go to work... I don't have the desire or time to type out a long winded turn.

HolyShadow 07-14-2009 10:27 PM

Excuses are very attractive, EdBat.

EdBat 07-14-2009 10:29 PM

Glad you think so.

HolyShadow 07-14-2009 10:33 PM

By the way, I apologize if I was rude or anything. I don't necessarily mean to insult you or anything of the sort.

Either way, I suggest locking this topic. There's no reason for it to be open. Your choice, though.

EdBat 07-14-2009 10:36 PM

It's open in case there are any questions that the general userbase may need answered, and I see nothing wrong in a little debate.

HolyShadow 07-14-2009 10:40 PM

Okay, I understand.

Though, I think you should take out the rule about 'taking over' a forum game if neither of you are really capable of taking over a game due to inactivity. It's a good idea, but I think forum games should regulate themselves in that regard.

EdBat 07-14-2009 10:43 PM

It would probably be Masty taking over the game. If a game is inactive it may be locked until someone else wants to take it over if neither of us are unable to.

HolyShadow 07-14-2009 10:52 PM

He may not be able to take control of some games, especially considering that many people may want a lot of games to go on at the same time with no gm there.

I'm sorry, but I don't see that as a realistic rule.

EdBat 07-14-2009 11:45 PM

Well we will have to see how it works out. For now it stays.
