The movie was just okay overall... Ellis went a TAD bit overboard in the battle sequences.

Actually Cobra with a body count is not odd at all. The show from the 80s wasn't exactly true GI Joe. It was much toned down. The Comic Series by Marvel which was made before the TV show was a lot more violent and Cobra was actually a legitiment threat and Cobra Commander was truely an evil bastard.
At least, so is what I hear from avid fans anyway..... (and after a quick scan of Wiki... <.<)
