[rec] sounds interesting enough; I think I shall see it when I get the chance.
Hopefully it will be better than The Blair Witch Project.
As for violent/horror films, I'd say The Unborn looks relatively promising.
And for those who don't mind subtitles Let The Right One In appears to be disturbing, but you never know.
I have yet to find out what makes children so...creepy.
