I saw Bonds Beyond Time this morning and I have to say that it's not all bad... they did hire a couple of bad VOs but the story was pretty faithful and consistent, and nothing appeared to be missing. But maybe they only treat the movies like that.
However, one good movie atop a pile of shit isn't salvation, I'm afraid.

The editing of english language is because their version is the template for the international (sans Japan of course) version of the show and seeing how not everyone country can read English...there ya go.
Also yeah, the accents give it a bit more flavor. I know their One Piece dub would never have worked, but I like their voices better than what Funi has ( although both sides have "actor who only does one voice" syndrome). Last edited by ggbhtg; 10-10-2011 at 10:14 AM.

What do I hate about 4Kids?
Actually, not much at all. They're pretty overrated in terms of how bad they are. The only dubs I did not like they produced are: One Piece (I think this speaks for itself, by far the worst dub I've ever seen by 4Kids), Tokyo Mew Mew (bad), and Magical Doremi (bad). All other dubs they did were passable, while three of them were actually quite good-excellent. Before you guys join the bandwagon here and say "oh teh 4kids suxs dey edit stuff out oh i'm sure da FCC has nothing to do with it on local TV uh duh dey suck," let me explain what I mean: Their third best dub IMO, Yu-Gi-Oh!, has some edits here and there, but when 4Kids says you lose your friggin soul to an ancient beast like the Leviathan for all eternity, that obviously screams it's not "4Kids" and boy did they have some balls most people do not give them credit for (probably because most whine about the DOMA arc when actually I found it by far the most scary...this evil guy with hemochromatic eyes (Dartz) who makes the Egyptian gods look like pansies...yeah very scary actually). They even had an uncut release of the first nine episodes in collaboration with FUNimation (along with Shaman King!), but no one even bought them and so they were discontinued (so your disapproval is misdirected because you all had the chance to buy them, but you did not). May I just say those 9 uncut episodes were awesome and I loved them! :) Second best dub goes to Ultimate Muscle!/Kinnikuman Nisei. The only edits 4Kids made were to Kid Muscle's head and in one episode about Meat's dad (ok big deal "they removed Kanji oh noes dey suck for dat"), and they kept almost ALL the brutal fighting scenes and made it hilarious at times. Say what you will, but I enjoyed this dub a lot. I think you know guys know, what their best dub is by far). I shouldn't have to state this, but Pokémon was amazing when 4Kids had the license. Say what you will about them editing onigiri into sandwiches and the music replacement (with actually a really good soundtrack nonetheless), but a vast majority of people prefer Pokémon when 4Kids had it to what they deem crap on now by 4Kids (which actually TPCi is responsible for doing since Season 9-Season 15-- I'm writing this as of the Virbank Gym-Part 2 episode). I personally hate TPCi's main cast voice actors because I feel they suck at their roles. Veronica Taylor, Eric Stuart, Rachael Lillis, Maddie Blaustein, and Amy Birnbaum are probably the best VAs 4Kids ever used. It's a shame one who got a chance to return died two years after she was fired and shortly after she returned, three will never return again to play anyone despite being great VAs and people, and one got a chance to return but never as Misty or Jessie again. Pokemon's dub was better off with 4Kids IMHO. I hope TPCi's cast gets the boot the same way because I despise them as poor voice actors and even more as individuals. They sicken me to hell and hopefully after Season 16 karma bites them in the butt. I look forward to the day when Mrs. Natochenny and company depart the anime and we get half-decent voice actors in those roles. ;) I am neither a 4Kids hater or lover, just stating the truth about them as a company. 4Kids really wasn't bad at all, just a victim of constant complaining from people who I seriously doubt could do better (I'm not saying they were good or bad, they're alright overall but not either of the other two things). List of dubbing companies worse than 4Kids: PUSA/TPCi (responsible for Pokemon's dub from Seasons 9-15), Odex (Singapore Yu-Gi-Oh! and others), AB Groupe for the DBZ Films (Philippines dub), and Malaysian dub DBZ. Eh, I just wish they would let the animes they dub be released in uncut form. There's some things I like, I like the Yugi to Yami transformation music better in the dub, and some 4Kids stuff I like to rewatch for nostalgic reasons. But I'll never forgive them for ruining 2003 Astro Boy! Don't know what I'm talking about, look it up!

I liked 4kids when I was younger since they made pokemon :) Then I stopped liking it after seeing one piece ._. Strangely enough after becoming a fan of the abridged series I like 4kids again :D I didn't know there was an uncut version of yugioh released :o Is it hard to find?
