This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

Default The Kite Runner

I had to read this book for school. I thought it would be boring but boy, was I wrong. The movie was ok, but not as good as the book.

Anybody else enjoyed it?

I enjoyed the book, but not the movie.

You should read A Thousand Splendid Suns as well.

I thought the same when my teacher told us to read it because I had no interest in Afghanistan or the Taliban or anything because it didn't really affect me. But after reading the Kite runner I'm in love with the society and culture that Amir and Hassan grew up in.
I was really moved by the book and absolutely loved it. I'm re-reading it now since my exam is in a couple weeks.
I hope to read a thousand splendid suns soon as well once I've caught up with the backlog of books that I've bought but been unable to read because of coursework and exams ¬_¬

I didn't cry, but I get why people did. Housseini really is a fantastic writer.

I loved the book when I had to do it as a novel essay. The movie just does not capture the sadness of the book.
