So yeah, Bakura gets turned into a cracked-out Yami Marik, and Marik gets turned into the sweetest little uke...maybe these writers are confusing Thiefshipping with Deathshipping or something.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by lovey-dovey, like I definitely don't see them being all over-the-top sweet to each other, but I can see them being loving since in the series they do show caring for each other. But like I said, I like it when they're shown to care about each other and at the same time the fighting/power struggle between them is kept, since that's basically how they act in the canon.


And ugh yeah weeaboos. One time I was at a con and I was cosplaying as Felicia from Darkstalkers and some random girl screamed "GLOMP THE NEKO!" and ran up and hugged me and she smelled like she hadn't showered in...ever. And I was just thinking, "Congratulations, you just displayed basically every single weeaboo trait within the space of about 5 seconds."

I don't really read or write Peachshipping, I was mostly stating I don't mind it because it seems that most yaoi fangirls despise it because there's no.. yaoi in it. >>...

Perhaps all the advocates of the 'psychotic Bakura/wimpy Marik who just takes it' Thiefshipping have had their brains scrambled and have confused Yami Marik and Ryou for normal Marik and Bakura. Or at least, that's the explanation I want to stick with, for the sake of my sanity, anyway. The idea that someone could mess their characters up that much makes me want to pull my hair out.

And by lovey-dovey I mean that overly fluffy fluff of fluffiness that makes me want to vomit fluff. I think the overt unnecessary usage of the word "fluff" in the previous sentence can be a good comparison to all the fluff in the fluffy Thiefshipping fics that ruin the characters.... Fluff.

Eh, I like DM!Yami, but considering how the manga arc went, it would've been kind of cool to see more of a transition. Or, since Season 0 was produced by a different company, Yami could've started off in DM as less 'sane', shall we say. Then, as he got to know Yugi & co. in season one, and discovered his identity later on, it would've been much more of a psychological journey for him.

I actually like Japanese DM!Kaiba a LOT. He's a snarky ass, but he's not nearly the panties-consistently-in-a-bunch asshole he is in the dub. They ramped up the volume on that so much, especially his skepticism (went from pretty skeptical to FLAT-OUT refusing to believe anything), that it almost ruins his character, IMO. Though each version gives him some fantastic assy-but-hilarious lines.

Yeah, I would definitely never write anything ridiculously fluffy like that with this pairing, but I guess it doesn't bother me to read it too much, because in my mind I'm like "WELL AT LEAST NOBODY IS GETTING RAPED OR BEATEN." (I wanted to get in on the yelling.) That's how far my standards have fallen because of this fandom, that I basically consider a fanfic acceptable as long as Bakura isn't beating or raping his lover.

In conclusion, my favorite movie series is Saw. Because of all the blood. Sorry, that had nothing to do with anything. I was just thinking about it because I just re-watched Saw 6, and it really is my favorite series.

I certainly hope they're confusing these characters.. Flying Spaghetti Monster forbid that we have idiots-who-can't-properly-characterize in this fandom.. Or any fandom, really.

Fluff is marginally better than the 'RAPE AND ABUSE AND STUFF' fics, but.. still, the fluff overload kills me sometimes, it really does. And it's not even characters that you would expect fluff to be involved with (Like.. Ryou, or Yugi), it's the characters that would sooner stab you in the face than coddle you like a toddler.
