I could have these armed guards shoot Marik.

OR
I could force Kaiba to host an unbelievably expensive tournament that would cause hundreds of dangerous terrorists to steal cards and possibly kill small children in the name of their homicidal leader Marik, who will only be stopped if one 4 foot tall teenager makes it to the final round and defeats him without being killed.

Lets go with the second one, I think it has a better chance of success.
