This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

Okay, like most of the people who start topics here, I'm thinking of doing a parody series. However, the series in question has no DVD release here in America, and I can only find DVD raws for only five episodes. But I did find a few places that sale the Japanese DVDs. Now here's the thing, I know I can change the region settings for my DVD drives that came with my computer, but I can only do it a few times, and then I won't be able to change them back. So I was wondering if I could change the settings on an external DVD drive so it could read and access Japanese region DVDs with it, and not mess up my internal drives.

EDIT: I found out that DVD Decrypter can remove the region protections.

If it's not popular enough to get an American DVD release, likes are no one will care about your series anyways.

No it's been dubbed, and it's got a fan base, it's just that the company who dubbed it (Disney), doesn't seem to have an interest in putting on DVD. And I probably wouldn't buy the America DVD anyway with some of the edits they.

A computer DVD drive isn't region locked. Only DVD players and consoles are. How depressing.

Don't know why, the'd make more money with a universal region, but the censoring steps in though.

Yes, I know what it is. But for what reason, other than to annoy people.

I don't consider any of them to be valid points.

Yeah, they do. I checked both of my DVD drives, and they both have region protection. And I can only change them 4 times. The drives have an internal counter that cannot be reset, that counts the time the region changes, and when the counter hits zero, it locks the drive on region it's on. Some drives come region free, while others don't. It all depends on the manufacture.
Here's a page I found on the matter. http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/articles/region.html
I was just wondering if I could do it with external drive so I wouldn't ruined my internal drives.

Yeah. . .It's Digimon D.S. I watched it Japanese long before it came out here, and loved it. And Disney raped it. Just like they raped my childhood memories with cheap DVD sequels to their classics.
