I find it completely amusing how EVERYONE in my school absolutely adores them or hates them. I'm not very fond of them, but I like the song Blood. I think it's a hidden track or something, but I forgot. Anyways, they seem a bit too reliant on their image, but I may be the only one thinking that. I mean, everyone I know that likes them is in love with Gerard, or something. Then a few of my friends listen to them because they think they're just cool. I've listened to a lot of their music, and I just don't really like it. Not my style, I guess?

I don't mean to come off as an asshole, here. What lies ahead is just my opinion (albeit my HATE-FILLED opinion). The truth is, the majority of MCR fans (and emo fans in general) only like this music because it is what's popular at the moment. It's 'hip', 'cool', 'in' ect. You've all got PC's. You've probably all got limitless access to the interweb, right? Then find more music. Pure music. The stuff they won't play on MTV. Something different. It's refreshing and liberating.
So, as far as it goes, you don't have to listen to 'this' and wear 'that' just because your told to by the media. If you really like the whole 'emo' thing regardless, that's cool (but let's face it...if MTV didn't tell you to...most of you wouldn't). Anyway, in summary, don't be a lemming. I for one won't be following you off this cliff any time soon...

Well I feel insulted. I'm not like that at all. I'm into MCR because simply: I like the music. The only music channel I ever watch is vh1 classic. I listen to dozens of bands that I bet you've never heard of. I don't give a shit what's cool, and I never give in to the media. Stop pretending you know about something when you really don't know the other side of it.
Coming from a TRUE, My Chemical Romance fan. by the way, you have a fucking tom cruise avatar. I don't think you should be insulting MCR fans.

MCR is just an overrated mainstream band who only want to become famous and get rich... ive listened to their old albums, and i find them much better than the black parade... i personally think that the black parade SUCKS! there i said it... there are a million bands that are out there that are much better than MCR... the only reason MCR is so popular is because MTV supports emo rock... look at fall out boy and 30 seconds to mars... i see their songs on MTV every 5 minutes.. why you ask? because its EMO! if you like emo rock and you dont want to be a slave to MTV... listen to some metalcore, they are like a heavier version of emo... only 10 times better... (i recommend Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, As I Lay Dying and Caliban)

Awesome, brilliant, and (honestly) off of their LAST CD. I don't think of the Black Parade as a CD, more as a waste of time and money. And b4 you go saying" Oh, he's just an MCR-Hater." no. MCR is my second fav band( 1st being Gym Class Heroes) and i've stuck it out with em since their first album, and can probabbly anem and give u lyrics for any song they made.

they have a couple good songs, but I generally don't like emo. -_-
see, I'm a happy-go-lucky kinda guy, and I don't like listening to what MTV, of all places, tells me to do. -_- the songs I listen to either have to be parody (weird al), complete nonsense (king crimson), rock without much language in it, or mainly something with a good beat. I can't stand bands that are like: 1. Singing how much their life sucks 2. Singing how great their life is 3. Whiny voices 4. Singing about random crap that nobody really has no idea what it is. and MCR really fits in those categories well, but then again, every single band has its exceptions that sound good enough to appeal to the average rock fan.

I like MCR, all of their albums. I may be wrong but it seems to me everyone just listened to the black parade, noticed how it wasn't as explosive and angry as three cheers and then never gave it chance. Nevertheless, it hit the mainstream, sold lots of copies and now everyone has another reason not to listen to it because it's "too mainstream".
