Lip Synching
Is there any special software people like LK use to synch lips to voices? The only way apart from hoping I get lucky with the raw footage matching up is taking a screenshot of the character with his mouth open and closed then place the picture on top of the other on the timeline to give the illusion of the character speaking but this is very difficult and slow.
Any help? |

No.
There is no special program that does lip syncing for him. It's frame-by-frame lip syncing. This is taking a screenshot of each mouthmovement and putting them together to match the words. Example: Screenshot one: Mouth closed Screenshot two: transition from mouth closed to mouth open. These are just one frame long. Screenshot three: Mouth open. At times more than just those three will be necessary but that is the basic. LK uses Sony Vegas Video 8. Threads like this have been done before. Please look harder next time. What programs can I use to look at each frame individually? I can't seem to find anything like that on Sony Vegas 9 or VLC media player.

Sony Vegas can do that. Just scroll forward on the timeline, click on a certain point, and use the left and right directional keys.
