Now the metaphorical train of thought that this thread could potentially have had flips on its side and flounders for as long as possible before a mod locks it.

OR

We subvert the very nature of this thread and stay as closely on topic as is theoretically possible, which is to demonstrate derailment. Therefore each post must include a potential means of derailing this thread. Any two posts discussing the same topic will result in a paradox, wherein the thread realigns with it's original line of thought and the derailment of derailment causes the thread to no longer be a demonstration of derailment and is thusly deserving of being locked.

Every time I look at somebody claiming that X hasn't been funny since Y, I just can't help but feel that there is a growing trend of reverse nostalgia-nazism. Put another way, Cynicism seems to be the new Nostalgia. At what point in society did it become cooler to denigrate others than to create your own content, however funny or unfunny said content may have been?

So glad you created a topic like this, we should carefully explore this facet of society. Lord knows we have enough topics about politics and sexuality already, the last thing we need is for another topic to revolve around either of those.
