This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

The friday the 13th series, closely followed by Nightmare on Elmstreet, because nothing beats a good horror. But I watch lots more movies as well.

Two of my favourite movies are 80's movies...
Labyrinth - so excited to hear it used as an (intentional?) homage in one of the abridged episodes
The Princess Bride - to this day I can't hear the word "inconceivable" and not think of Vizzini

It's mostly the movies from my childhood - it takes about a decade or two for me to decide if a movie makes it to my favourite list. I'm not big on rushing things.

I liked:

The Star Wars Series except for Revenge of the Sith
TLOTR
The Harry Potter Series
The even numbered Star Trek movies
The Princess Bride
Shanghai Noon
Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and
The Hunt for Red October

BEST. MOVIES. EVER.

Lord of the Rings
Love Actually
Galaxy Quest (the ultimate Trekkie parody)
The original Star wars (4-6)
Monty Python and Holy Grail
Spirited Away
Howl's Moving Castle
12 Angry Men

That's just some

Harry Potter's not a movie, it's a fan pleasing money grubber.
Eragon was just sad. Don't make a movie out of a bad book, you can't make it good.

How did this thread start out with a different subject from the title? Surely the things mentioned in earlier posts are Upcoming movies not favourites. I'm so confused which is it!?!?!
Oh well I'll go with favourites.

Transformers The Movie (80's version) - It's actually withstood the test of time, the animation isn't amazing by any means but it still doesn't look terrible even now. Plus I still get a little sad when Prime dies.
Wayne's World - I warned you this list wasn't high brow. Seriously if there's anyone out there that doesn't laugh at least once during this film then frankly they're not the type of person I want to know. Sheer comedic genius
Swingers - Just the best film for anyone that's ever been through a bad break up and it's damn funny too.
Human Traffic - A lot of people won't like it because it's a "drug" film but it's really well written and oddly moving.
Versus - Because zombies are cool, sword fights are cool, Yakuza are bad asses and over the top action sequences featuring all three = joygasm.

2001: A Space Odyssey, All About Eve, Amadeus, American Beauty, Apocalypse Now, Dead-Alive, The Good, the bad, and the Ugly, Chinatown, Citizen Kane, Dr. Strangelove, The Evil Dead, Fail-Safe, The Godfather I & II, Grindhouse, Lady Vengeance, Lawrence of Arabia, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Manchurian Candidate, Mildred Pierce, Mulholland Dr., Oldboy, Persona, Pulp Fiction, Rear Window, The Shining, The Shop on Main Street, Sunset Boulevard, Taxi Driver, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Third Man, Touch of Evil, Three Colors: Blue, Vertigo, The Wages of Fear
I'm glad to see someone interested in old films. I used to like Vertigo as my favorite, but I admit to just jumping the bandwagon. I dont watch old films anymore, because I have expectations which are too high, and I end up being disappointed. However, when I do, The Manchurian Candidate was going to be one of the first to watch. Later comes Lawrence of Arabia, Chinatown and Sunset Blvd.

I admit there not the greatest films on the face of the planet but lets be honest they're ok.

1. Princess Bride (So funny <img src='/images/emoticons/smiley2.png'> )
2. The Dark Knight (It was just epic!)
3. Pokemon: The First Movie (Best Pokemon Film Ever)
4. Pokemon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew (Close Secound)
5. 21 (Didn't really stick with the book but still a great movie)
6. Con-Air (Great Nick Cage Film)

The idea that any film containing the words "Scary Movie" is "OK" is laughable in and of itself. But your top 5 kind of sealed the deal. Go and watch some real movies, kthx.

The Dark Knight was epic, and Pokemon The First Movie was just fall of fail. And the fact you actually like Nicholas Cage when he cannot act AT ALL (repeat: AT ALL) is laughable.
tbh I actually quite enjoyed Scary Movie 4 (only one I've watched) :

Best thriller: The silence of the lambs
Best drama: American history X
Best horror/comedy (since you cant take any horror seriously): Dawn of the dead/ the excorcist (if your looking for seriousness)
Best comedy: Clerks 2
Best sci/fi: Alien quadrilogy
Best action: Face off
Best Fantasy: Sleepy Hollow

Most overrated movies: the harry potter films, Ive never seen a more pathetic character than harry (other than his equally gimpy sidekicks). The only thing worse than Daniel Radcliffs acting is the storyline. Nothing guards a priceless stone of ultimate power like a giant game of chess! Great idea Rowling, next stupid idea I get, I might just send it off to you to so you can put it in your next book!

Got a little side-tracked there, but anyway if you havent seen any of those previously mentioned films, I strongly suggest you do so immediately!
