This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

Ehh, the movie was a nice movie by itself, ignoring the fact that it's supposed to be epart of a series. However, they killed any chance of a sequel by not even mentioning Chronos or Clarise(correct spelling?). Seriously, I wtf'd at the plot. It's like the movie's maker didn't read the book, but he knew a person that knew a person that read the book a few years ago and figured that that was good enough.

They do plan on making a sequel.

Clarisse will be in the "next" movie. Sea of Monsters.

I just don't like how Grover has become the complete inverse of the character he was in the first book.

I don't know why Kronos was not mentioned...it just disappointed me...it seems they could've tried better to stick to the source material.

They also ruined the fight between Percy and Luke...we all know the original outcome.

How about reading this whole list.

Spoilers for the Non-Book Readers...

I really encourage people to read the book.

I just finished the first book, and I really liked it. It reminded me of Harry Potter (which I adore), but that is a-okay with me. I love the wit Percy has; he cracks me up.

By the way, has anyone noticed how it says at the start "If you think you're a demigod, stop reading", but demigods are, for the most part, dyslexic?

How many people other than me were really pissed off by the movie-book differences? >:C
Seriously, though. I was really looking forward to seeing some of the book scenes and was really disappointed when I didn't see them.
The movie was good in general for people who didn't read the books, but for people like me it was an angry shock. >.>

OoOoOh I love the Percy Jackson series! It's that kind of book that no matter how much I try to put it down I just can't, haha.

Actually I am waiting for my sister to arrive with "The Titan's Curse" =) I told her to buy it for me and I can't wait to start reading again.

Annabeth is the best, beside Percy of course.

Oops almost forgot: The movie was alright..even though THEY CHANGED THE PLOTLINE.

I just recently started reading the series, and being about a third of the way into the third book, I have to say I like it quite a bit.

However, I'm a bit confused...if Percy is dyslexic and cannot read, how is he able to constantly read things like the signs to buildings and the names of ships? Am I missing some key point to demigod dyslexia?

I didn't notice any differences. I was mesmerized by the fact that the actor who played Percy Jackson was wearing lip gloss and eye shadow.

Or at least it looked like it.

Either way, he was wearing a lot of make up: my friends and I spent the majority of the movie making fun of this fact.

I like the book series and I thought the movie is ok. Now if only their is a Percy Jackson anime that could be made by the people who did Full Metal Alchemist.

I love this series its very witty, and well written for a book aimed at younger audiences, i movie itself was a bit of a let down, concidering that they left out Ares who was a big part of the lighting thief as one of the main villans in the book, overall it was very enjoyable.

I was dissapointed with the movie and i kid you not when i say that the people who wrote the script only read the first book. Their thought process was probably something along the lines of "kronos? he's probably just some unnecessary side plot." Then they read the second book and realized their mistake. :-P

Also, did anyone else notice that except Annabeth in the movie had a lightning spear and was just a bit grumpier she would have been clarisse?
