For me, it's "The Moment of Truth" or possibly some kid's show on Nick. The Moment of Truth just ruins lives.
That, or some reality show VH1 does. Rock of Love? Yeah, real classy. |

Reality television in general is the worst, in my opinion. Other shows I can't stand include Johnny Test, NCIS (and the whole police procedural genre in general), any of that CN Real garbage, and whatever the hell The Disney Channel is producing these days.

Worst TV Shows: By Genre.
Because I was born in the alternate reality known as the eighties, I was of course raised by a TV. This said: I've seen more TV shows than is probably recommended, and a lot of them Bad TV shows. But as for the worst... I have to ask: What Genre?
Mystery Psych This show was a joke. You take a hammy actor, a black sidekick (because they have to be PC), and they pretend he has psychic powers. The main antagonist is a cop, who (shocker) doesn't believe him, and he's an asshole because he wants to unveil these frauds for what they are. This show contains sketchy morals, a douche bag for a main character, and absolutely no likability, no wonder it's on USA. Sci Fi Lost In Space Oh god, talk about bad. It takes place in the far off year of 1998 and was about a family of space travelers who's space saucer was sabotaged and thrown into an astroid field. It then takes in a Marslike oasis, where despite any resources these people are able to survive, with perfectly quaffed hair, no less. This show was the epitome of bad Sci Fi. It's messages are campy, but at least it's science is terrible. The setting looks like crap, but at least it has less cardboard than the characters. And don't think if I was in that situation as a kid I would go anywhere alone with Johnathan Harris (Danger Will Robinson, Danger). Sitcom Two and a Half Men Charlie Sheen plays a... Yeah, I didn't have to finish that sentence, did I? You already lost interest didn't you? Despite the fact that he is the "most popular actor in our generation," watching Michael J. Fox's stand-in is just not my form of entertainment. The show circles around a bunch of surprisingly worse actors than Charlie Sheen, while it camps around from misogynistic to chauvinistic jokes, while the audience is being told when to laugh (presumably because they've been lobotomized by now). Medical Drama Grey's Anatomy For a show that prides itself on deep monologues, Grey's Anatomy an awful lot like standing in the grass as the sprinkler is slowly ticking away on the hottest day of the year. The show offers us little in true dilema's, while wanting to focus on this week's Love Affair. You might as well have called it Anatomy in the City. Superhero Mutant X A blatant ripoff of X-Men, this show had less in the way of special effects than The Incredible Hulk. The show featured "realistic" main characters, who had as much acting talent as their wardrobe coordinator. Not much you can really say for an original series. Paranormal Being Human I can see the brain storm for this now. Guy A goes to Guy B meet for tea and crumpets and Guy A and says "Hey, what do you think of making a Series about a Werewolf, a Ghost, and a Vampire, and take all of the action and suspense away, and show it as all of them Being Human! In fact that's what we can call it! Being Human!" Of course, by this time, the writer is spaced out, distracted from fantasies of the Queen and Rotten Teeth and says "Yeah yeah, go with it." Dramodies Scrubs: Medical School The last squishy fart of the Scrubs series, this show truly defined bad in a way yet seen. The main characters are simply annoying, the lessons are heartless and repetative, but at Least we still have Cox... who has lost all edge and appeal in order to look like the huggible father figure that JD wanted through out the entire series (That bastard). Fantasy Xena: Warrior Princess Lucy Lawlas makes a fantastic performance of playing a man who is playing a woman in middle ages. Xena: Warrior Drag Queen is the same beat out Hercules story, just not always with the benefit of Captain Hunt with a long sword. Adult Animated Series Tom Goes to the Mayor Never have I actually felt dumber while watching a show. The show is is a black and white panel with preset freezeframes mistaken for animation. The show is demented on a level that makes the carnival in my mind look sane, and the writing often just comes down to a poo flinging content (literally in some cases). Sketch Comedy Shows Tim and Eric's Awesome Show Great Job Yeah, they made it on my list again. That just might tell you to these guys just need to give up all social mediums and preferably hang themselves with a piano wire. Tim and Eric's Awesome Show Great Job! (or as it's called in my house "Where the fuck is the remote?") it the concept of stealing all ideas from Kids in the Hall, and take everything remotely heterosexual out (So they kept most of it). Horror Goosebumps Ok, why was this series made? Based off of a line of crap books, meant for people who pissed themselves on old Are You Afraid Of The Dark episodes, when this show wasn't rehashing the books it was blatantly stealing story lines from Snick, which shows it doesn't have good taste when ripping something off. Reality I Love New York Yeah, just what I want to watch: the girl who shat herself in Flavor of Love has her own series. You know it's bad when Flavor Flav calls you nasty. Anime One Piece I can't stretch (get it?) enough to say how much I hate this series. It's based off of a stupid concept, with stupid characters, stupid dialogue, stupid animation, stupid editing... God this show is fucking stupid! Game Show The Dating Game Suitor 1, if you were to make a crappy game show starring a girl who is to chooses between three perfect strangers by asking them totally random and unimportant questions, so that her and one of the said strangers can share a hotel room in a place they've never been, what would you call it? Suitor 1 The Date Raping Game? Well, that does it for those Genre's, but I'm sure that one day I'll get bored enough to make another one of these posts. For now I just suggest that these shows get barred from all memory, and all shall be screened to see if they like these shows. I then suggest castration so that they may no longer pollute the human race (who knows, maybe then even I can get some action). Jack "Aperio Contra" Shawhan. Satire Writer, Critic, and Stupid Fat American Slob. The Wasted Time. |

I am impressed you went through every genre you could think of. I even agree with several of them.
HOWEVER! I must disagree with a few of them good sir! Quote:
2. Xena was actually very different from Hercules, Hercules had a definate time period, and almost exclusively kept to "greek" mythos. Xena was literally ageless, went through many different cultures, and did not take itself too seriously. To this day its one of my favorite shows. Quote:
If I had to go for stupidest anime ever I'd go for something with absolutely no worth. (One piece does have worth imo.) Also: Worst tv show in my opinion is Ghost Hunters. There is no point to watching people stand around in the dark for an hour whispering. Srsly Last edited by TheOcean; 02-08-2011 at 02:29 AM. Reason: stupid brackets. |

I think a lot of things mentioned are bad, but the worst tends to be reality shows.
Although shown as 'reality' a lot of it is scripted, in the most painful ways. I could list off multiple things that makes me angry, but I shall keep the list to the short few. Jersey Shore (As previously mentioned), My Sweet 16, Gok's fashion thing (Forget the name), talent competitions (Such as the X-Factor). Most of them only exist to make a cheap cash in because as we all know, if it is reality who would care about how bad the script or what they say or do is? (Fuck 'em) |

I agree on the reality shows. Better said:
Scripted reality. I hate it. It's on all the private TV stations and they are all the same. They only change title and characters but... geez I'm so pissed! Even on the weekend, when they could send some good stuff in the afternoon, it's just scripted reality. |
