What do you think of YGO 5Ds?

Title, really, just post your opinion on 5Ds.

From Japanese subtitled versions, I think 5Ds is actually pretty good character and plot-wise. But card games on motorcycles is just odd. And you get the occasional annoying character.

But it's each to their own, I guess.

Same here, same here. They also swap out the music. Not that the music's any better or worse (actually, I prefer the 4kid's composition the the Jap's version) but the problem is 4kids music NEVER STOPS PLAYING in the background.

Sometimes that can take away from the scenes.

Yeah, I agree. And they always censor death by adding the 'Shadow Realm', covering it up with purple airbrushes, or twisting the plot altogether. For example, when a character (2, actually) falls from a building, they give the scene a massive purple fog.

I watched some of the English, and it was kinda awful compared to the Japanese.

I don't know anything about the name change... but it may be right. Or it may be wrong, as it's Wikipedia.

I haven't got up to that story arc (still on Dark Signers) so I don't really have a clue what you're referring to in that screenshot. Was that bit of explosives originally something else in the Japanese version?

Ah, I see. Normally, in flashbacks, the English would have fuzzy borders and the Japanese wouldn't, so I made a stupid assumption *facepalm* I use comparison websites every now and then.

Neither do I, but after watching the Jap versions for so long some phases can be picked up. The second video actually had a storyline, believe it or not.

And the braindamage? My friend, there are some of these that go on for over eight minutes. Ahaha...ha...he...

Yeah, I've watched about 50 eps, and learnt to identify some Japanese phrases along the way. I didn't watch the full vids as I'm supposed to be studying for exams and doing assignments.

As I stated before, I do enjoy 5D's...but it just sooo out there.

Let's hope they decide to make a show out of Yugioh R. That, at least, has the original characters.

It couldn't be because none of the original cast is in it.

It also couldn't be the fact that their tattoos have the power to summon a dragon which, oh by the way, happens to somewhat resemble the Leviathan from Season Four of the original Yu-Gi-Oh!

It might not also be the fact that the plot is ridiculously lame.

And it certainly couldn't be because they're playing a children's card game on specially designed motorcycles.

I personally reckon 5Ds is about on par with DM, but I'm not a picky person. Haven't watched GX, though.

i think 5Ds is better than GX, to be honest.
it has a less annoying protagonist.
