i don't think he was going to kill Ryuuji.
and he wants to get revenge on yuugi because his grandpa had played a game with him for ownership of the sennen puzzle, and he lost, and was forced to age fifty years in one night.

Yeah you are right on both accounts
There is never too much duke to be had
Secondly, i think a couple of the threads are down the line now, forgotten about and pushed aside
