"The Last Airbender" - Final trailer
Here it is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ja7wGBIYLGc Thoughts? Good? Bad? Any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism (I.e. make a point) I know there is this entire debate about casting, changes to the series and all that so to hear what the general consensus was. For me, I think it looks awesome! Can't wait for the movie. |

The thing with me is, I know this movie will suck. The casting looks bad, all the comedy will most likely be written out, and it looks like another blue screen effect circle jerk movie. But I am going to see it. I love the show and even though I know this will absolutely rape the source material, I am going to see it. The only thing I am looking forward to is the scene where Aasif Mandvi punches a fish to death. Just thinking about it cracks me up.

Haha, i love Aasif. he's hilarious.
I am a bit worried about Aangs actor myself, seeing as how he hasn't acted before. The rest we'll have to see, as I haven't actually seen any of they're work... well besides Shaun Tomb... he'll probably be good. And even if most of the comedy is written out, I don't think it will be too noticeable in a 2 1/2 hour movie, where in the series the need to have that "silly kid time" to build the characters. |

The "silly kid time" was what made the show great. You can't care about the plot until you care about Aang and you can't care about Aang if they don't build his character. From the trailer, Aang's actor looks bland and uninteresting. He looks more like the subject of the movie and not the main character. I'll go ahead and call it now: This movie will succeed or fail depending on how well Sokka's character is handled. Aang looks too flat and uninteresting to have any personality so Sokka is going to have to pull everything together. Without a strong performance from Jackson Rathbone, this movie is going to suck.

The action looks beautiful, but everything else seems tired and cliché, which is odd since the source material was so rich and vibrant.
Also, what's up with Sokka and Katara being the only white kids in their tribe? |

I have high hopes for this movie. I am a big fan of the show, and I agree with killshot, on the fact that they probably are going to write out all the comic relief. I am not too crazy on who they casted as Aang. I think I heard his voice once and he sounds way too stern and serious to be Aang. Sokka's character better be as funny and awesome as he was in the TV series, otherwise I will be very upset.
All in all, I really don't think I will have a solid opinion on this movie until I see it for myself. |

I think this movie is going to be crap, they COMPLETELY messed up on the casting. But I am going to go see it anyways. Even though the Zuko actor doesn't look like Zuko and it is going to make me cry.

I am scared it will be like the Dragon Ball Evolution movie. I'll wait it out and see how people rate it.

I am excited! I loved the show and though the characters look a little off, I always give people the benefit of the doubt on a series of movies the first time around. Now if they mess it up, I probably won't see book 2. I'm not that gullible.

The casting was a bit off. I wish they chose actors that looked more like the original character design. It's probably hard to find Inuit or Eskimo actors, but they could've at least tried. And Zuko's scar wasn't done right either. From what I saw in the pictures, it's a wimpy little thing, not a badass scar covering the whole half of his face. That was my first thought as well. Hopefully it won't be as bad as DBE, but we'll see. I want to see it in theaters, but if the reviews are bad, I'll just wait until it shows up on TV for free. =P |

....Was Momo in there? It sucked because Momo wasn't in there, right? Momo makes everything better. 8D |
