This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

Yeah I'm not likely to be dead.

But I saw that and I felt it was completely expected given the author. Also silly.

I never would have discovered anime if not for it, lol.

Ah, well Samurai X and Dragonball were my gateway animes. Trigun was a little before my time.

.....OMG I remember watching all of Samurai X in a weekend. It was a strange time in my life, and the person who's home I was hanging out at bought the entire box set on a whim.

....lol dragonball wast technically before your time too. :-P

but way to make me feel even older. :D

Yeah but Toonami played Dragonball religiously for freaking years so it's not like it had gone out before I got into anime like Trigun did.

Well time for another episode of "Dark gives his impression on various things"

First up: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (and Master's Quest)

This game was a blast to play, and it's why I bought a 3DS. It really captures the charm and fun of the original OoT, but small touches like completely new character models, animations, and environment textures really bring it to life in a new way. Master's Quest was definitely a change of pace and brought appropriate challenge to the game. I even had to consult walkthroughs to find a few switches.

Overall, I'd say that if anyone is considering getting a 3DS in the future, or already has a 3DS, this is definitely a game to pick up. I think the only way you could not enjoy it is if you've played the game to death on other platforms already.

===

I also have some first impressions on Darker than Black. It almost has a bit of an X-men feel to it, with a little I-don't-know-what sprinkled in...maybe something like the more action-filled parts of Ghost in the Shell.

Anyway, I'm 6 episodes in and enjoying it rather well so I'll be continuing.

Right, impressions time.

Darker than Black
So yeah, the X-Men vibe was there for most of it. The entire series felt a lot like an American-style comic plot than most manga I've read. Overall it was rather enjoyable. There were very few throwaway characters, and even ones only shown for a short time were given nice personalization that gets the viewer invested in their story. Probably one of the better anime I've seen in quite some time.

ADDENDUM: Forgot to talk about the ending. Throughout the series, certain plot points are brought up without much explanation but they're explained in good time and at a satisfactory pace. However, in the last few episodes as almost all the threads are wrapping up, several new ones are brought up that don't really get resolution. It's kind of annoying because for a series that seemed to be leading up to closure, it opened back up.

Next up: I'm not sure what. I may watch Funimation's Durarara subs or I may watch one of the Slayers seasons on Netflix. I'll be playing Fire Emblem for the time in between.

Anyway, I'll try to do my best here. Most information about me is on my profile, but I'll let anyone who wants to ask me some questions (at my discretion). That way, everyone gets to know the things they want to. I'll add that info to this post as the topic fills up.

The current page and the last 2 digits of your post count are 69.

I smell a conspiracy.

Were you related to 9/11?

Well played, sir.

Hmm... alright, how do you respond to the recent allegations by an unknown source that you are connected to 9/11?

You would have to live under a rock to not be connected.

Everyone in the modern world was effected by the event in some way, whether it be emotionally distress or general annoyance due to national security measures.

Thus everyone has a connection to it.

Usually typing out a long post I am breaking down or multiquoting at which point I am using the full reply window instead of the quick reply box.
