I'm very surprised that the cat has them. When the dog had them the fleas were EVERYWHERE. Yet, I haven't seen a single flea since the incident with the dog. The cat has been basically tearing chunks of fur out on her back by the base of the tail, I was worried it was some sort of rash, allergy, or indicator of something else wrong

Put saucers of epson salt under your furniture. Sucks in the humidity eggs need to hatch and adult fleas are weirdly attracted to it and dry out/die. When I had jedi she had a bad flea attack one summer in texas. I swear after many flea dips and brushings this actually helped cause it killed the fleas that hid in the carpets.

40C = 104F
47C = 117F

which isn't too different from how the summers are here, only it's usually the humidity that gets us to the latter
