okay, maybe something that's not off topic:
homosexuality is a lot more accepted in Japan. it is considered quite normal, so it also appears in their literature. the acceptance of homosexuality is part of the Japanese culture and their literature is a product of their culture. taking homosexuality out would mean taking out the Japanese culture and then it wouldn't be a real Manga any more. not everyone likes Yaoi, that's okay. but Yaoi doesn't ruin the Japanese literature, it is part of it.

I can see how it can be considered an insanity. Masochism could also be considered an insanity. but it doesn't harm anyone, so an asylum is a big exaggerated. but calling it an insanity is just an opinion. insanities don#t have to be something bad.
I find it funny how most of you find it more offensive than I do, though I am the offended one :D but we talked long enough and she apologised. so could we get back to topic?

Well, you say that you're the "offended" one, but you obviously aren't. The fact that we find it more offensive than you means that we are being offended by it. No, I'm not gay, but someone discriminating against others because of something they have no control over IS very offensive to me. So actually, I'm the offended one.
As far as my opinion of Yaoi goes; I don't have any problems with yaoi, though it's not neccessarily something I'd choose to watch/read.

As someone with mental issues, I'm not sure I should take offense or not to the idea of homosexuals being locked in mental institutions.
I do know, I consider Kronus a friend and I accept him regardless of who he sleeps with.

If you were gay. That'd be okay. I mean 'cuz hey. I'd like you anyway~ (cookie if you get the reference) As for my opinion on Yaoi? Thiefshipping is my OTP. For Yugioh at least. my favourite pairing in yugioh would be something with ryou, because I like ryou and he deserves someone, but I never saw anyone in that show whom I'd consider the right one for him. If I got it right, Yaoi means pornographic stuff, right? in that case I don't like it that much. but I wouldn't like heterosexual or lesbian pornography either. when I am watching a story, I am interested in the story, not in looking up the girls scirt or looking at the boys hot, sexy, fascinating, gorgeous... *drools* oh, sorry, I got carried away a bit. anyway, as I said, I am rather interested in the story, then in all that pornographic stuff, regardless of the genders.

Hm...pairings with Ryou I can think of two off the top of my head: Tendershipping (Yami Bakura and Ryou) and Deathshipping (Yami Marik and Ryou). Tendershipping seems like the more legitimate (for lack of a better word) of the two, I think. It's hinted at a lot more than Deathshipping is, at least. And yeah you're kinda right. Yaoi is boyxboy and Yuri is girlxgirl. Though Yuri is also the name of the main character in Tales of Vesperia. Eheheheh. but I will have my revenge! if I don't get a cookie, nobody will. *hacks into the internet and clicks on "delete cookies" I can't imagine either of those. yami Marik and Ryou never met and Bakura and Ryou... well, they were never really friendly with each other. the only kind which I could I imagine between those is Bakura raping Ryou. I could imagine Gemshipping a bit. after 3000 Years, his packt with Zorc and so on and so on, Yami Bakura wasn't a very nice human anymore^^ Akefia wasn't nice either, but I suppose, if he had someone caring for him back then, he could have handled the situation with a lot less hate. but he had no one. if Ryou would have been there for Akefia bak then, things could have turned out differently. but I'd wouldn't want Ryou to get someone as mean and rough as Akefia. I suppose the pairing that works the best is Ryou Yugi. they are both innocent and like games, so they'd get along. but honestly, they are actually just friends. Edit: out of my own experience I can tell, that Ryou + Bakura or Ryou + thiefking Bakura wouldn't work very well. I am a bit like ryou and I know someone who is a bit like Bakura. we get along amazingly well, but a relationship would never work. I could imagine them as brothers, but that's all. and with the real Yugioh, even that would probably not work, because Bakura is too devastated to care for a brother. And yeah Tendershipping is basically Yami Bakura being the dominate one. There's an amazing Bakura RPer I follow on Tumblr called exquisite-torture and an equally amazing Ryou RPer I also follow called guardianofthering. Btw Takahashi actually said that if Kul Elna hasn't been destroyed, Thief King Bakura would have grown up with Ryou's personality. I saw that somewhere on Tumblr. Anyway for my non Yugioh OTPs Fluri(Yuri Lowell and Flynn Scifo) and YurixZagi (okay that's two pairings but I can't decide between them) for Tales of Vesperia Jade Curtiss X Peony for Tales of the Abyss Edgeworth X Phoenix for Phoenix Wright Incidentally I don't like AkuRoku(AxelXRoxas). I never really liked it. And back when I was very against it I said I didn't like yaoi at all...and then I became a thiefshipper. Funny how that works.
