This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

This.

According to Last.fm, my overall top 10 list is:

1) Epica
2) Behemoth
3) Opeth
4) Draconian
5) Bloodbath
6) Cradle of Filth
7) Nightwish
8) System of a Down
9) Green Day
10) Slipknot

Green Day, System of a Down and Slipknot are all high because I used to listen them like crazy a while ago. I still think all three bands make great music, though I don't listen to them much nowadays.

Other bands I love that IMO deserve to be on that list are Arch of Hell, Within Temptation, Rise Against, Bring Me The Horizon and Maximum the Hormone.

...whatever. Symphonic metal ftw.

Black Sabbath!

er not the one you all know...with Ozzy...or even Dio-he is cool
in 1984, they had this chap singing...Ian Gillan...famous for being the lead singer in Deep Purple
(the drummer there is Bev Bevan, from ELO, as Bill Ward had came and left again...)

they made one album, then Ian went to rejoin Deep Purple and Sabbath fell apart

Lordi is God. God came to earth to rock our faces, split himself into 5 people, and that became Lordi. My mortal tongue cannot form the appropriate words to describe Their greatness.

The greatest mortal musicians would have to be the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Their music is fun incarnate, with great melodies and sounds.

BT quite possibly ties the Bosstones, being an amazing musician who can do amazing things with just about any musical style given to him. He is the king of all that is techno, and then some.

Other great artists who are wonderful and amazing and touch our lives include:

Metallica
Gorillaz
AC/DC
VNV Nation
Run DMC
m.o.v.e
Glay
Helloween (when Andi Deris become the vocalist, though Michael Kiske had a few good songs)
Therion
Nightwish
Stone Temple Pilots
Pearl Jam
Jimmy Buffet
Yoko Kanno
Hammerfall
Masterplan
Mintjam
Avenged Sevenfold
Saliva
Smash Mouth
Sevendust

And the songs I would rank among my favorites? Wouldn't you know it: all but 1 are done by the Holy Trinity. There's more, but I have a LOT of favorite songs.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - The Impression That I Get
Lordi - Deadache
Lordi - Missing Miss Charlene
BT - Force of Gravity
Stone Temple Pilots - Plush

I'm much more downbeat than most. My two main bands are:
Zero 7
Thievery corporation

I'm also a fan of:
Globus
Jonathan Coulton
Lucca Turilli
Evanescence
Gackt
Daft Punk
Delain

And I haven't listened to a lot of, but am starting to like:
My Chemical Romance
Ayreon
Nightwish
Amberian Dawn

Quite a wide spectrum If I do say so myself.

You have seen the light, my friend. Two of my all-time favorites right there.
I'm also surprised that someone here besides me listens to AD. If you haven't heard 'River of Tuoni', please do.

7 pages and HarleyThomas1002 is the only one to actually name songs to go along with the bands! Well done, you rock - now I have something to search for so I can see if these bands (or even just the songs) are any good.

I'll have to put together a list, my music folder is a complete mess of 40s up to present day music from all genres. :9
