Season 5 had Burst Mode.
And Agumon is awesome. Too bad his D-volution line sucks compared to the original... |

From what I read I seem to agree with the mayority here.
Season 1 and 2 take the cake hands down, although I don't really think of them as separate series' really, more like an ongoing thing with a plot break (and season 1 being slightly more epic). But it all only gets tied up at the end of season 2 (story of the digidestined, story of the digimon etc...) and I really loved the outlook on the future *~* Plus, the (german) soundtrack really rocks, I listened to it for hours on end. And the synchro was great (back in the days before 4KIDS....). And along came season 3... yeah... -___-''' and season 4... watched two episodes, sat in a corner and cried a lot... And just when I thought it couldn't get any more dead, along came season 5. O.O WTH, that's not Digimon anymore!!! ;____; |

You mean Apocalymon. Diaboromon was only in the movies.

For me this is how I rate the seasons I liked.
1) Digimon Tamers (Season 3) 2) Digimon Data Squad (Season 5) 3) Digimon Adventure (Season 1) 4) Adventure 02 (Season 2) I didn't like Frontiers. And in all honesty I was one of those people who had a lot of bias for Season 5. I originally saw season 5 in Japanese. The first 13 episodes to be exact. When I originally saw it I felt they screwed up on the digivolutions and I had nostalgic bias toward Agumon's new Digivolution line and I didn't like the animation style change, once again due to nostalgic bias. I was so annoyed I wound up dropping it. Time Skip about a year. I re-watched Season 3, my favorite season. I wanted more Digimon of course. So I saw the Tamers movies (Runaway Locomon was better than the first Tamers movie), Digimon the First Movie, and then Diaboromon's revenge (which I didn't like that much) and a few episodes of Adventure 01. During this period I found Digimon Wikia and realized that it's okay that some digimon can digivolve into different things and what not. So I wound up giving Data Squad another time in English and I did have a more enjoyable experience then when I had saw in Japanese. After not making a big deal about the animation change like I did the previous year and got over the nostalgic bias I love Data Squad and it's really cool! The digivolution scenes are pretty awesome and the digivolution theme is pretty cool as well. Oh and I hated how freaking cliche Adventure 02's ending was. All in all I wouldn't say anything went wrong at all with Digimon, even if I didn't like the fourth season. You either like 'em of you don't. But I do think people should put nostalgic bias to the side in the cases seasons 3 - 5/4 - 5. Last edited by ThePRPD; 12-15-2009 at 05:48 PM. |

I was probably one of the few who liked S5 from the start. The characters, music and animation were fine for me. I would have preferred S1 Agumon's digivolutions though, mainly because Wargreymon > Every other ____Greymon.
Btw, did anyone notice Lalamon never wins a battle on her own until she reaches Ultimate stage? |

I agree with the WarGreymon statement. WarGreymon kicked @$$.

I'd love to see a crossover with the Adventure 01, 02,Tamers, and Data Squad digidestined. |

They did do a roundabouts crossover in a video game in Japan. I believe they called it Brave Tamer or something, and it explains how Ryo got from Adventure to Tamers.

I assumed Ryo was in Adventures as some sort of prize for being a godly tamer in S3.

Nope, according to the games, he originated in Adventure.
If you take notice, you can see him crop up in Adventure, Adventure 02, and Our War Game from time to time, this is prior to Tamers. |

I guess Ryo is a dimension hopper.

...who knew to avoid Frontiers, for good reasons.
I wonder what he would look like in Savers? |

I never really paid attention to the show, but I found it fairly entertaining and not at all the Pokemon rip-off I thought it was before I actually gave it a chance. Then it turned out the seasons I had just watched were some kind of fictional franchise within the meta-show of the next season, or SOMETHING, and then I stopped following it all together.
Also I could never remember the monster's names. |

Ironically, the first fact you pointed out affected me as well. Of course, over here, due to liscensing issues, no Digimon has been broadcast since Fox Kids became Jetix.

Digimon seemed to become pretty - different after the second season. But the third and fourth seasons were good overall.
Lost it after the fourth though. The fifth was.. something... *-* |

Season 3 didn't go wrong. It just pissed everyone off because of the sudden change. Once you get passed that, S3, 4, and 5 all have their merits.
3: Pretty cool characters (Mainly the Digimon) and a darker story. 4: Pretty good cast of characters, D/Volution might not be the most liked, but BurningGreymon/Lowemon and others were pretty badass. 5: Again, great cast of characters, Agumon returns, great story (Once the linearity stops... round about the part with them going to the Digiworld). Plus, the soundtracks are all nice. |

Why? Their story had already finished. It would be boring. I like every season (season 3 my fav) except for Frontiers.

Season 3 was my favourite, the whole "Digimon is a TV show and this is the real world" plot, plus the more serious nature and the insight into each character made it great.
I watched Season 1+2 but it lost my interest- I think the only thing that got my interest was in Season 2 when older Tai asks the girl, outside a concert, if the present she was holding was for him (asking as a joke). She blurts out "No, it's for Matt" and there's this awkward moment, with them both stuttering and embarressed, because it was hinted previously they had a romantic connetion and she had basically been dating the other guy (just because he had a band - what a whore) XD Hated 4 and I've never seen 5 with the adults running around |

I got into Digimon for a little while, but I was little and there were three main things I had a choice to get into; Digimon, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh!. I went with one of those three hardcore, the other was secondary, and the third was an afterthought.
HOWEVER. The first season rocked. The second...nyeeehhh... The third was pretty good. ...And I feel like saying 'There were more seasons? o.o' |

Season 2 was indeed the best then Season 1.
Then they had to market the stupid trading cards.....Good job. At least pedos got something out of it. I grew up with Digimon and Pokemon roughly at the same time. I was seven when the series first started in japan and I just started getting into pokemon. I always wanted the Digi vice(Much like tamagochi, except you flail the thing around to evolve it) |

Seasons three, four & five were the biggest shit on earth.
The first two seasons were just the best, because they didnīt had to take place in a complete new shitty timeline. |

That too. I loved it how they actually still added the season 1 characters once in a while. That gave season one fans a big cheer.
