Okay so I was watching Legendary Heroes and got to the part where Mokuba rescues Kaiba and tells him how he got into the game.
Kaiba's reaction was "You know how I feel about Yugi" Okay Kaiba...I can relate to you because we both have a little brother we care about but when you THANK Yugi for rescuing Mokuba from Pegasus and then turn right around and act extremely ungrateful for Yugi HELPING MOKUBA RESCUE YOU that's where I get really upset. Seriously THAT is what I hate about Kaiba. He has a superiority complex that just drives me insane. Joey looks humble compared to him and you know how much Joey likes to brag. Legendary heroes was not cannon. Neither was the virtual arc, in anime yugioh they tried their best to make yami yugi into some kind of anime Jesus, but in manga he burned people alive and stuff. I think that the dub was more obnoxious than the japanese version too. In the japanese version he never singled out joey to insult him, and he was not so ungrateful.

Kaiba himself is a badass douche. (I've been thinking of making a meme picture showing: Douchebag Kaiba: Invites you to a tournament --- Blows up Island because he lost.. -- Not 100% accurate, but funny enough ))

Here's how I see it: Manga and anime are completely separate from each other. What's in the anime is canon to the anime and what's in the manga is canon to the manga.
Episode 13 doesn't exist in the manga. Does that make it non-canon? Compare the Season 0 manga to the Season 0 anime. Anime left out parts of the manga. Then again Legendary Heroes and the Virtual World arc were filler anyway. At least Virtual World provided some backstory on Mokuba and Seto And with Anime Yami vs Manga Yami...well that's only 'cuz the TV people don't want little kiddies scarred for life~ Though Season 0 begs to differ. I see your point. I wish that the anime was more faithful to the manga. I always felt like it was nothing more than a 30 minute advertisement for the card game. Kaiba was pretty ruthless, but I then to dislike the goody to shoes characters in most anime so Kaiba and yami bakura ended up being my favorite characters even though they weren't exactly role models...
They should reanimate yugioh and include the season 0 stuff.

Hey, I just remembered the final arc was shortened because ppl lost interest in yugioh and the love story between priest set and kisara was cut out. Also that poor girl was given no backstory. What is a blue eyed paled skin white dragon girl even doing in ancient Egypt? The reason ppl lost interest was because there was hardly any card games!

Yeah. I know of a few anime that are different from their manga counterparts, like Death Note and FMA. FMA: Brotherhood is actually closer to the manga.
Are you talking about the manga or anime final arc? Because Season 5 was a pretty decent length I thought. And there were some flashbacks for when Priest Seto and Kisara met and later on you could tell Seto loved her from one of their scenes And that's easy: Kisara's a plot device 'cuz Blue Eyes Last edited by Ebilkittyprincess28; 05-11-2013 at 08:48 AM.

Kaiba was my favorite character, but the dub made him so unlikable. However, I love how Pegasus use to troll Kaiba. I really don't understand the yami yugi fans that guy never really had to struggle in the manga. He was just obnoxiously lucky and kind of arrogant.

In episode 159 (Waking the Dragons Arc), there is something in particularly nagging me about Kaiba.
What does he say in the subtitled version? Surprise surprise, the dub version of Kaiba's mini meltdown doesn't seem to work with his expression. And it is destroying me.
