I don't think that there's an OS system that's particularly difficult to use.
It takes adjusting, but that takes not much longer than a few tries, if that. |

Heh, "buy a Mac because PC's suck" is possibly the worst advertising method I have ever seen... I mean, sure it might make me want to vote Macs into government, but I sure as hell ain't gonna buy one :V

It sucks but people fall for it, obviously.
Macs are OK computers but there are too many things that I like about Windows programs and the way that a PC is designed for me to use a Mac. Their lack of right-click annoys me and I don't like how you have to search for your millions of windows instead of having an easy toolbar thing at the bottom to help you show what you want at the moment. I can't count how many times I've seen professors on their Macs in class having to go through millions of windows before finding the right one, whereas on a PC you just have to go to the bottom and find the one thing and click it and voila, it's there. |

If you have to put down the competition to make your own product look good then your product must not be very good.

In my experience of new windows OS (Like ME, XP and Vista), there are always teething problems that need to be sorted out first. That said they do seem to be getting better at it. ME was/is horrid, XP had major compatibility issues as did Vista (although Vista was much more stable) so it's likely 7 will have gremlins while people are still switching over from XP/Vista.
Also I'm a fan of Vista, the appearence and UI are much better than XP. Though XP has more compatible programs and IPX. I'm going to wait for more available DX11 video cards and games first. |

Windows vista was evil. The only thing that thing did was lag and kill my sister's laptop it took forever to wipe it and reload a copy of windows XP. I like windows 7 thought, yeah it's kind of lags but it's been good for my pc, and laptop.
I've never really played around with linux might have to try that sometime. |

I disagree. Windows is OK, but odly, I find vista better.

Well, I'm not saying that vista is all bad. It has it's good points. I just don't get why it would come on a laptop that doesn't have enough to run it. That is why it was evil.

Just a thought; Is it worth it to uninstall Vista and get 7?
[Also...I love my Vista. If it were possible, I'd hug it. Instead I hug my laptop and hope my feelings go through. <3] |

In some ways it is but in others vista is better than 7 the one really reason that 7 is good is because it's not as bloated as vista in some ways. But my friend said that in most computers vista is a better operating system. It really all depends on the computer you have.

I've been running Vista for a year with no problems. Since it's not broken, I'm not fixing it (i.e. upgrading to Windows 7).
So, that's my position, which is probably worth more than some of the opinions in this thread which, in all likelihood, derive from hearsay/the MS Hate Bandwagon. On a final note, why can't Microsoft be more consistent with their naming conventions? First, they had actual version numbers (i.e. 3.1). Then, they switched it to dates (i.e. 95, 98). Then, they switched it to acronyms (i.e. NT, ME), before switching back to dates again (i.e. 2000) and, then, switching back to acronyms (i.e. XP). All was swell until some idiot in marketing decided to throw away the already confusing system and use vague words (i.e. Vista). Then, they decided to just go back to version numbers (i.e. 7). |

I like 7 but I'm not a fan of the auto-collapsed icons. Like a generic 'Google Chrome' icon on the bottom screen and you have to click on it to see all of your windows instead of being able to see each individual one like in Vista. Unless that only applies to Netbooks, does it?

Um, I think that happens to all of them. But I am not that sure i only really use window's 7 on my desktop. That does happen on the desktop but it only happens to me when i minimize the window.

I'm using Vista right now, and while it updates like once a week, I still think it's better than Windows ME. The first home computer my family ever bought had Millennium Edition on it, and it was the most buggy, laggy, piece of shit I've ever dealt with.
I don't think Vista's bad either. Sure, Vista has it's faults, but nothing's going to be 100%. I haven't used Windows 7, but a lot of my friends are saying it's completely bitchin'. Maybe when I have to update my laptop or get it fixed or something after it breaks, I'll try out this Windows 7 thing. Since there's nothing wrong with my Vista, I'm not changing it yet. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. |

I agree with you there. O.o windows ME? xDDD It sucked so bad!! Vista is a good operating system as long as your computer can run it. I like windows 7 more just cause it doesn't crash as much on that laptop but windows vista works fine on my sister's desktop. |
