don't even get me started Friday was my day off this week and I spent it at the nursing home doing a chart audit and now I'm slightly terrified

Medications ceased months ago we were never notified about, so we kept packing them.
Frequently incontinent elderly people on pretty large doses of diuretics for no discernible reason?? Records containing six months of photocopied charts with different orders on them. Never send your loved ones to a nursing home. |

yeah, wow, that sucks
also, too late on the last point: our great-grandmother went into one after the second stroke since they could take better care of her than we could (my aunt worked as a physical therapist at that one, and we visited regularly, so it's not like we dumped her and forgot about her) right up until she died about 12 years ago |

On the plus side I got to swap stories with one of the cooler nurses there so that was fun. But now I have to write up a report and a plan to fix all these charts. And also check 50 or so packs for our community patients. On the plus side, I managed to get my blood taken. I snuck into the doc's one night and was like yo gimme referral and he said "Sure, take one of everything" so now I get to know my TSH, LH, FSH, FBC and a buncha other acronymns for funzies |

any idea when you're getting some help? also, any word on if you got anything from the dentist?

Apparently we have a locum lined up for the next six weeks, so I'll be back to my regular fortnightly roster for that long at least. Apparently it's really hard to find permanent staff in rural areas atm so who knows what'll happen after that.
Don't know anything about the dentist. AFAIK they've been deregistered but I haven't really looked into it. All my bloods were free anyway so the only reason I'll push further is if I'm HIV/Hep positive |

well i hope you're clean, and i'm not surprised it's tough to find permanent staff in the middle of nowhere, everyone always wants to be a big-shot in the city

I mean I wouldn't say it's the middle of NOWHERE I mean come on man we have two whole streets of shops. We even have a roundabout AND a set of traffic lights so. Y'know.

Welp, just been kicked out of Ellie's home for standing up to her little brother being a piece of shit to everyone. Currently awaiting the 50/50 chance of the police turning up. Yay being me!
EDIT: Just heard the police are on their way. Woop! |

i think it's gone beyond a cup of tea being enough by now, he'll need nothing short of a Monty Python marathon and some meat pies

I see a lot happened since the last time I checked the BAR. Huh, guess that's not a bad thing. Biggles, I hope you're not arrested.
And in further news, I hurt my back doing laundry saturday night and was in the ER all night. They gave me morphine while there, but forgot that most pharmacies open late on sundays, so it wore off long before the muscle relaxers they gave me were even bought. So I ended up chasing pain all day, and it was possibly the worst pain in my life. Never hurt your back if you can help it kids. |
