No, I win becuse I don't waste money on overpriced hardware. I'm neutral about the Mac OS, and if I could install it easily on a normal computer, I would give it a try. But until then, I refuse to pay 400 extra dollars for a computer than it should be.

You guys are missing the point of my UNIX comment.

Apple couldn't develop a decent OS themselves so, instead, opted to take someone else's software. And then put a nice GUI to it to make it appealing.

One point I'd like to make is that Windows & Linux, by design, are modular.

So, while you can find both on embedded systems (i.e. Agilent uses Windows for their oscilloscopes, any company that takes networking seriously uses Linux on their hardware, etc.), you're only going to find OSX on an integrated desk/laptop.

I agree with Klokwerk with the price issue of macs. Why are they charging more when they need to compete with MS?

I've never owned a mac so I can't comment on how good/bad they are but I do know the UI is bland and it tended to copy protect burnt discs on my aunt's mac when u put pics on it. Aside from iTunes and movie making I can't see the point of using OSX.

Yes I know iTunes works on PC, I have it, but it is still buggy and leeches memory something shocking, a problem I'm sure OSX doesn't have.

I have a MacBook that I bought in 2006. Has super low RAM so I really need to get a new computer after this year. I'm *gasp* considering getting a PC, but I'm worried about switching back over because I have grown so accustomed to the OSX interface and I really like it.. Considering an iMac or a PC laptop as next computer.

I don't like Vista, but I have to deal with it on my laptop, which is currently out of commision because of the stupid automatic updating and crap. However, this computer has XP. XP is so much better than Vista. Vista always has been, and always will be, made of FAIL.

Mine doesn't go out of commission when it's updating, maybe you should get a laptop that's less than 7 years old.
