I'm always excited for this convention of 23,000+ people! In the Chicago-land area, it's not too far from Mitsuwa Market which proves to be one of the favorite side stops for people out of state.

What is ACen?

Anime Central (ACen) is Chicago’s and the Midwest’s largest anime, manga and Japanese popular culture convention. The convention is currently held in Rosemont, IL, less than 30 minutes from downtown Chicago.

As part of its mission, ACen brings fans together with guests from the Japanese and US sectors of the anime and manga industry, as well as gaming, cinema, and Asian culture personalities. The event includes a huge exhibit hall, a massive video game room, concerts, dances, educational panels and workshops, premiere screenings, autograph sessions, 24-hour video rooms, tabletop gaming and much, much more!

Despite having attended the awesome Youmacon and Ohayocon previously, I had to forfeit attending those conventions this time because of financial obligations. However, ACen is NOT a convention I would miss for anything. Whether you're broke, without a car or room... It's still worth it.

I think I'm way too excited to harass some YGO cosplayers... WAY too excited. Would kill to see a good Kaiba and Jounouchi.

I'll be at Acen this year, skipped last year and regretted. While my brother was hanging out with hot cosplayers, I was dealing with idiots at work. I'm not cosplaying, though my brother is cosplaying as Altair from Assassin's Creed. Anybody else bringing Yugioh or Magic The Gathering cards?

Maybe, but doubtful. We don't know we each other looks like. Though you can find my videos easily. I'm packing right now and double checking I got everything.
