Anime Syracuse 2012-A Post Convention Report

Greetings once more for another convention report! To cap off the convention season of 2012 it was a return to Syracuse’s 1 day affair on the NY State Fairgrounds. The 404s shows were great showing once more, with 40-50 attendees coming to the first show with people coming partway into the show, then a packed theatre of over 120 people there for the Masquerade and staying for our show which spanned over 2 time slots to give prizes to the winning cosplaying fans. There was also a panel with the Plus 2 Comedy troupe (http://plustwocomedy.com/ ) who came on stage to do some scenes in the second show. Overall the convention had about 1000 patrons for the one day affair.

It was a fun set of shows. Included in this report are both tapings by Syracuse staff of the shows below. It was a vibrant show with even an Irish Drinking Song returning to sing about replacement referees and how to crush the NY Jets (which apparently happened that weekend to a certain con reporter’s glee courtesy his favourite team the San Francisco 49ers doing the deed-oops better get back to the geek talk!). There was everything from a Dating Game with zombies to many different scenes played in forward and reverse on the Starship Enterprise. There seemed to be...tea...that...was...too...hot! There was a lot of Gangnam and Congo dancing, quests for everything from princesses to Slender Man, and a lot of hilarious scenes as seen from the 2 show videos that you can enjoy too!

My finds:

*I got some Mahou Sensei Negima items. From the first series I found some pins of Konoka, Setsuna, Yue and my favourite character Nodoka. From the second series I got a nice set of different coloured pens that has Konoka, Nodoka and Asuna on them.

*Once more I got some Grape Hi Chew. Oh and some groceries later after the convention again of items I can’t get in Canada from Nutter Butter to Cherry Crush pop.

*Got a new button from the Cosplayers (http://www.cosplayersmovie.com/ ) who were at this convention once more for some fun times while they filmed some new footage for their project.

*The big find was the original Dinosaur BBQ we ate at with a bunch of the guests from Plus 2 Comedy and The Cosplayers. Good company, good eats and a good deal for 3 Family Meals with drinks was great!
