Could somebody please explain Mega Ultra Chicken to me? I just don't find it funny... is it parodying something? What's up with the african dude? And I didn't find the other god names funny either. Are they parodying something?

Slyfer the Executive Producer...did that have a point? Meh, the rest of the movie was great.
"Back in my day we didn't have Duel Domes, we had to play our card games on the street. And our cards weren't real cards, they were just rocks we picked up. And then we threw them at eachother. Come to think of it, it wasn't really card games at all, we just liked to throw rocks at each other. MOstly at me. THat's probably why I have so much self loathing..." |

Yes. The co-producer of the 4Kids version of Yu-Gi-Oh was Roger Slifer, so 4Kids named one of the monsters in the children's card game after him. LittleKuriboh makes fun of that in the movie.

Mega Ultra Chicken is a nod to an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, in which the final five minutes consist of a character saying the words "Arise, chicken!" many times over. Mega Ultra Chicken is the legendary chicken that ends up crushing Carl.
<img src='http://www.aquateencentral.com/epguide/images/screenshots/videoouija/full/videoouija12.jpg' border='0' /> Obelisk the Tormentor is a nod to Joey and Tristan "tormenting" Yugi. I thought, given that so many people told me that was their favourite moment in episode three, I didn't need to do much to that God Card. Slifer the Sky Dragon had a different name in the original Japanese. They changed it in the English and named the card after the show's producer. His name is Roger Slifer. Hence, Slifer is the executive producer. |

I can't help but laugh everytime I see yugi miss with the dagger and The Price is Right failing music plays. Pure gold.

I just think the idea of Slifer the Sky Dragon being the show's producer is funny.
"So, Mr. Slifer, what do you think of our new budget proposals?" "ROAAAAAAAR!" "Y-yes, sir." |

Excellent movie. I didn't get the whole 'Slifer no swiping' gag, but if that is it, that's clever. Some really good quotes.
"Kaiba, I'm sure on some planet your strategy is considered poweful. But you weak link is, this is Earth." That would have to be my favorite single line. Actual discussion wise, the whole Kaiba and Pegasus talking was genius (when they first met in the movie). |

Personally I think that overall the Abridged movie was a bit disappointing compared to some of his earlier abridged episodes, but there were some funny parts.
I was actually the only one out of all my friends that found the 'Slifer the executive producer' bit funny... |

The abridged movie was great. I was just waiting for that, since I did see it in the theater and thinking, "We could chop about an hour off of this and we'd all get the point." I love the executive producer reference as well. And I really REALLY wanted to see Joey just stop and start doing THRILLER to get rid of the mummies. TT3TT Unfortunately, my animation skills are sub-par, so I never did get a chance to do that...

As much as I LOVED the Pegasus and Kaiba discussion, I couldn't believe there wasn't a joke surrounding the part where Pegasus pulls back his hair to reveal his empty eye socket, and Kaiba wretches a little. (And I don't mean a filthy joke either, perverts!) That was one of my favorite parts of the entire (unabridged) movie.

I prefered the Abridged Series to the Abridged Movie. But isn't that usually the way when a popular TV series is turned into a movie? Even if this is an internet series, don't the same rules apply?

When I get up and get dressed, I always have the movie playing on my computer. Sometimes I set it to full screen.
It's just so funny, I love Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Abridged Movie! |

I laughed. I cried. My obelisk hurts from shear greatness of seeing such a masterpiece. My life is just a bit more kooky now.
