This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

i have a question btw, does starscream survive? cuz you see a jet in the end fly to outer space.
No they just showed a normal human jet fly into outer space because they can do that ¬_¬ yeah he does and there will be two more films with unicron rumored to appear in the 3rd so i think this movie will do as many seqel films do, the first one was awsome the second one sucks and the third will be about as good as the first but may go ither way good or bad!

umm well all i have to say about this movie is that the CG fight scenes were incredibly good! but, the climax of the film got lost in the fighting, i think. i practically fell asleep during the climax because there was TOO MUCH fighting. when it was over, i was happy because i didn't have to sit through it anymore.

The Movie was awesome, I seen it like the second day it was out, and I found the movie really great, I never really seen the TV series though.

I finally saw it

I didn't like it. At all. *WARNING, LANGUAGE BELOW*

I've always been a big Transformers fan. I was a "TRUKK NOT MUNKY" yeller (until I realized how fucking epic BW was becoming). I'm a big enough fan that I actually realize some of the inherit shittiness within G1 (mostly dialouge). I gave this movie a chance, and it failed me. It's not even the designs that bothered me (although I'd be pissed if they changed Soundwave, though luckily he isn't in the movie)

Why I didn't like it.

1. The humans. I can accept getting rid of Spike and replacing him with Sam (even though they'd have to Retcon now to explain Daniel in a sequel). However, you CANNOT call the movie "Transformers" and then make the robots secondary characters. Scott Ramsoomair was completely right in what he said.

Ya know what humans were important in the show? Chipp and Spike, and occasionally Sparkplug. THAT'S IT! The TF should have gotten 90-95% of the screen time, which they didn't.

2. The Ark and Nemesis. Where were they? Last time I checked most continuities, the TF only came to earth cuz they got pulled in due to Earth's gravitational field while fighting (although BW retconned this and said that they shot each other down while in orbit). Well okay, the prequel stuff DID have the Nemesis, but even then it was screwy.

3. Megatron lost TO THE HUMAN. I'm sorry, I can't accept that. I can easily accept Megatron dying to another transformer. No problem there, since he'll just come back as Galvatron then, and that's cool (even cooler if they got Leonard Nimoy to voice Galvatron again). It even gives a bonus in the fact that the next movie would be about Unicron. But why couldn't he lose to Prime?! They could always bring Prime back, they've done it before, but Megatron only gets 1 shot at it!

4. The movie lacked Blaster. Without him, Jazz just seems like a token black guy....robot....whatever.

5. It took the moneymaking path. Like always, the movie was made for the general public rather than the fans (with the exception of the Simpsons movie and kinda X-Men 2). Which means that the fans are left to gripe, while the public comes out saying how awesome it is without any fucking clue what TF is actually about.

Well, now that I've gone through the rant, I'll talk about the good.

1. Casting Frank Welker and Peter Cullen. I cannot overemphasize how important this is. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Megatron used in BW and onwards, but he's the smart, calculating Megatron. G1's Megatron was never all that smart. He's just evil. I like the Optimus VAs used for BW/Armada trilogy, but Peter Cullen just always had that subtlety that the others didn't (although I wish Peter Cullen said Primal's "well that's just....prime" at least one)

2. Shit blew up pretty: If there's anything Michael Bay can't do, it's have a good script in his movies. However, if there IS one thing he can do, it's have shit blow up and make it look good (see: the entire 2nd half of Bad Boys 2), and boy it did.

3. The Cube thing. Actually, I hated the concept behind it, but it's still a plus because it was originally just gonna be a regular old Energon Cube. Oh no, an Energon Cube, not that! It's not like Optimus and others don't have like 9 million more of those fucking things!

Sry if my language offends, but I needed to get that off my chest.

1. CG was awesome, they did a fantastic job in moving all of the moving parts of the Transformers

2. Comedy was, alright, there were some lame moments like when those Autobots were trying to hide from Shia's parents.

3. Ending could've done better. They should've shown more of the fight between Megatron and Optimus, and after such an awesome climax, you think something else would've happened.

All in all, 4/5

I liked it. I've always been a fan of robots, and I faintly remember watching both Gobots and Transformers when I was a kid, and I liked them both equally. I'm not old enough to have seen G1 Transformers, but I did like Beast Wars and such when I watched them. When I saw this movie was directed by Michael Bay, I immediately took a few things off my list: Any kind of subtle morals or symbolism in the movie, realism (as far as characters go, anyway), and lack of flashy lights. I was expecting robots beating the crap out of each other, with your basic blah blah cybertron we want to go home type thing.

I don't understand the people who criticize the movie just because it has things that wern't in G1, or in any other Transformers for that matter. The movie is, I'm guessing, a completely different universe/dimension than any other Transformers media made up till now, so I don't see the sense in going into the movie expecting them to cram every aspect of Transformers until now into 90 minutes (give or take)- then people would complain it was a movie used to cash in on the fanboys. There's just no way the movie can win with everyone, can it?

As far as focusing on humans go, I think that's pretty important for the first movie. Since it's trying to establish a new view of Transformers (And, more importantly, drawing more fans into the franchise), you need characters people can relate to- or at least, physically. It's not exactly easy to link to Michael Bay's characters emotionally. Ever. Heh. If you're going to dismiss that as some kind of moneymaking ploy....er, okay, maybe it is, but how much sense does it make for Michael Bay to immediately make a movie for the fanboys his first time working with Transformers? I mean, despite his track record, it's not like he wants his movies to suck. :-P

Finally, Jazz being some kind of ghetto-black-whatever-caricature thingamabob. Pretty sure that was done for comedic effect and not some kind of bizarre and obscure racial statement. Come on, not every racial stereotype has to be taken seriously; that's why comedians use them all the time. Of course, from the jokes in the movie, it's pretty obvious Michael Bay is far from being the funniest guy on the planet.

Ending this with the note that it's pretty obvious this was a marketing ploy, as are many other movies. Hell, I feel like buying one of the toys now; they were cool.

EDIT: Fixed some errors. My keyboard sucks.

I loved it. Not my favourite movie of all time, but a load of fun. Don't start comparing it to G1 (that way leads to madness), just enjoy it for what it is - a mindless but fun popcorn flick.

Bring on the Dinobots!!!

I'm a complete Transformers Fan, and I loved every minute of it!
Been A Transformers Fan for a while now.... Well When I was very little I was a somewhat fan (I remember getting Mini-transformers on a weekly basis), then as far as I saw, Transformers disappeared (I saw glimpses of Beasts Wars, but it never twigged as being Transformers) then towards the end of the Armada Toyline they somehow caught my attention, and after that I was collecting the toys like crazy (though never saw much of the cartoons until Energon, looking forwards to the new Cartoon BTW). My Friend says I have the Biggest Transformer collection in Oxford, though I know he must be wrong. But yeah, I have a massive collection, including over ten Optimus Primes. Also amassed a lot of the cartoons too, including the G1 cartoon up to the point where only Japan continued it.
I also own the Optimus Prime helmet and Hand Blaster, along with an Optimus Prime Front T-Shirt, so I can even cosplay... Don't judge me!

I do agree with many of the points that haters have against the film.
However...
Frenzy rocked HARD every scene he was in.
Bumblebee made me laugh a lot.
Starscream Vs Raptors Mid-air battle made my mouth hang open.
Loved G1 Bumblebee by Movie Bumblebee.
Original Optimus Prime Voice actor.
Transformers hiding round a house made me giggle like a Japanese School Girl.
I love the Movie Toys (though maybe not as much as previous toylines of recent times)
And much much more HARD HARD ROCK!

Predictions for sequel? The deepest bit of ocean where they are dumping the "corpses" is connected to Unicron.

Now if that Damn eBay Seller would hurry up and get the Masterpiece Megatron to send to me, so I can complete my Optimus Prime/Primal Vs Megatron display.
(Also love:- Microman, Revoltech, and Busou Shinki. And eBay. Most of the time.)

I just saw the movie a few weeks back with a few friends. I'm by no means a hardcore Transformers' fan, but I do remember some of the old cartoons. I think my friends' friends had a little more vested in the whole thing, and one of them came out of the theater with mixed feelings. I asked him kiddingly if it salvaged his childhood, but he said it didn't.

Essentially, the movie is two and a half hours of things blowing up, robots transforming and fighting, and the US military finding ways to both screw up royally (in ways very similar to that of Terminator 3) and blow up giant robots. If you've seen the movie, I think you'll figure out by the end that they had multiple storyline ideas in mind in regards to the humans, yet they couldn't decide on one (or one couldn't carry the movie) and decided on mixing them together and connecting it all toward the end. As a result, the characters kind of feel superficial in spite of the focus being directed mainly onto them.

I don't think they could decide on whether the movie was going to be a sci-fi drama, a full-blown action flic, or a tongue-in-cheek fest. Once again, it was all mixed together, so empathizing with the characters (the Autobots mainly) became difficult to do.

I should mention that there's more product placement in this film than in The Matrix Reloaded. Honestly, fifteen minutes didn't pass without blatantly showing a brand of vehicle, piece of technology, or military weaponry. What was that jet again? In case you forgot, it was an F-22---and it's going after a GMC truck! Yeah, that kind of thing. That's not an actual quote or anything like that, but there were several situations that had that effect.

If you have an afternoon to kill, it's worth watching. However, I warn you not to think too hard about certain plot devices. This movie is built on CGI, not a compelling script. Expecting a deep "can-man-teach-machine-the-value-of-life?" type of movie is not advised in this case. Just sit back and enjoy the explosions.

Everyone in the theater applauded every single time Optimus Prime showed up on the screen. That guy definitely has a following.

What the hell is going on with the lack of the classic Transformers' theme? Even one redone to a metal track would have been great, but instead we're treated to Linkin Park at the end of the movie. WTF?

Two great things about this movie: Megan Fox and Hugo Weaving voicing Megatron. The latter is especially funny since he says at one point (when hunting for Sam), "I can smell you!" Is that so, Agent Megatron?

The TF theme is on the soundtrack, but it's a bit odd that it's not in the movie.

It isn't officially part of the Soundtrack, though extremely strangely, it is on the Soundtrack. I think they may not have been commissioned to do the track, but once they did the Movie people liked it and decided to put it on the Soundtrack or something.

However, here's another new version of the Transformer's Theme.

And call me childish, but I can't wait for those toys. Nice to [s]see[/s] Hear that they have someone resembling the G1 Starscream's voice in the new series, thouggh seems to like doing "Land before time" impressions..... Megatron seems to have a strangely high amount of red on his design.

And Soundwave, not shown in the video, comes with Laserbeak, who transforms into his Guitar.

He's so going to Rock. Hard.

The script writers hope to work the Dinobots, Constructicons, and Soundwave into the next movie. Here's hoping...

And on that note, an extended cut of the movie is coming to IMAX on September 21st, with the DVD coming in November. Wal-Mart's DVD version will also include an animated version of the "Prime Directives" prequel comic series, complete with Peter Cullen voice-overs. Sweet.

I loved the film but everytime i wacth it it annoys me more at how bad some of the cammra angles are you hardly ever see a wide shot of the fights which annoys me and even thougth it would have cost a few tousand dollars extra for that to happen how cares it be worth it.

Have you seen the 1987 animated Transformer Movie? Optimus and Megatron had a fight and Optimus won, albeit not by much. Optimus would of straight out kicked his ass if Megs hadn't of cheated and used a hostage. Oh, the sneakiness of being evil.
