Instead of her usual routine and shenanigans, the cat has been lying on the bed in front of the air conditioner, staring at it

The last day was emotionally rough. Also I put my hands in a surprise fire ant nest. At least I'm on an adventure.

In other news, I've been meaning to tell you all something. I attended a workshop to help me get a job. This workshop lasted for about a month, and was one of the most irritating things I ever had to go to. One of the weirdest things, though... is that of the 11 other people who attended, I was practically the smartest person there. Me. I was smarter than 11 other people. :I |

Statistically, at least in the UK, the reason most people quit their jobs is because of bad management. |

Then again, this really shouldn't be surprising. People would be happy to stay at a job they tolerate as long as they are treated well and taken seriously. I was laid off because of bad management by the company's new overlords. So there's that too. |

Speaking of jobs, mine's gotten to the point that i need to look even harder for something else and quit. My boss went on vacation and my paycheck is going on 3 weeks late. Supposedly she signed the check and her bookkeeper will mail out this tuesday, but now im behind on all my bills and only have 50$ in my account
And this isnt the first, second, or third time that this has happened where my pay has been extremely late. And for all the aggravation I go through there, it's unacceptable. |

I work for the governent, if we have issues with our pay it ends up on the news if it's not a one off incident. Working for the government also means that each change of governemt I never know if my job is actually secure or not. A few years ago we were all meant to be getting outsourced to private which for people in the city is fine but people in the country like myself would mean we'd have to move to do the same job we were already doing under a different umbrella. Then the government changed and I got to keep my job and am still there thankfully. I'm not going anywhere unless I am forced to since overall I am happy with my job.

The hardest part is providing undeniable evidence that the workplace was at fault either through malice or negligence.

True. Would need pay stubs to prove that pay was given irregularly. Or at least copies of each of the checks with their dates on them with the dates deposited. My online bank account holds images of all of my checks that I deposit.
