There is a chance that I'll make it, but it's very slight. I dunno.

Is anything known about whether LK will be able to cross the almighty ash cloud to get to this?

I think her point is more that the giant cloud of ash from Iceland's volcano is still disrupting flights across the Atlantic. I don't think any planes have lifted off to or from the UK and parts of Europe for a good few days now. :X

Hmm, well he doesn't have to leave for a few more days, so he might be OK. |

To be honest guys, there is still a SLIGHT chance that lk may not be going to kami con, based on the VOLCANIC ASH. Seriously. I can't believe THAT'S OUR EXCUSE!
That's if his flight is delayed/grounded, which there is a chance. If he's all clear by friday, he should be going, but again, not in his control. So if he doesn't make it, HATE ICELAND. |

We're supposed to have a major storm system roll through here this weekend. But if LK manages to get here sometime early on Friday, his flight should be good to go (Otherwise he'll be having to land in Atlanta and either get stuck, or drive over. It's a five hour drive by car.). It just sucks since it's been absolutely gorgeous here for the past two weeks. And of course he's scheduled to come when it rains for the first time. xD I will not be able to go to Kami-con, despite being FIFTEEN FUCKING MINUTES AWAY. My life, it sucks. Read my thread in the random discussions forum if you're really interested (because I am not). Anyway, guys, if anyone does manage to come, hang around the strip (The area just outside of campus on University drive, in front of the Stadium. Don't go the other way, it quickly just turns into more road and then heads into a bad part of town). There are lots of bars and restaurants worth visiting, and the walk is pleasant. Farther down there's a small cluster of neighborhoods, and then you're in downtown. There are more bars and restaurants down that way too, and you'll end up bypassing most of the college freshmen if you go that route, but you'll need to drive unless you're up for walking a couple of miles. There's free parking at the end of the area. Right now they're doing construction so there's this GIANT OMG HUGE mound of dirt like... just sitting there. And I swear it was bigger a month ago. Too bad it's fenced off or I'd say climb that mofo. The rest of Tuscaloosa is pretty much dead, except for a shopping area near the mall. But it's extremely... boring and bland and like most other places you'll see in America. You know, a Panera, a starbucks, some clothing stores, high-priced generic boutiques. Sadly, this really is a college town. |
