Is there anyone going to iCon this year? (info below) Unfortunately nothing with YGOTAS is occurring though. Fortunately though it's back at it's original venue.

I'm think if going. I went once a few years ago when Vic was invited. It's not like it's the same month as the NY comic con anymore. Last time I enjoyed Amy Howard Wilson and her husband. And now I actually know what StarBlazers is.

trust me last year wasn't worth the cost. i got to meet marc gunn which was cool but definitely NOT worth $30. i don't know the lay out of stony brook at all. i've been there a few times and it's rather confusing but i'm sure i'll figure it out.

it's not that hard. parking is all the away on the other side of that half of the campus if I remember correctly. The road is just one big circle so you just keep driving until you see the sign that says con parking here. Just don't turn into the medical half of the campus and everything is in the same few buildings.

yeah i asked Kroze about ygotas coming and he said it wasn't worth it. he might be right since iCon while having some anime stuff is mostly a non-computer gamer environment. but there are a lot of voice actors this year and there's always the gaming room which i'm sure has card games.

yeah I've got a car for the weekend. just warning that stupid marathon that got me lost the last time I went is that sunday. I'll most likely will have a red backback and a yami plushie

the stupid marathon is the same weekend?? bloody hell if it is! if you need help with directions let me know a general area you're coming from and i can get you there.
i'll have some sort of pirate garb on on sat. (red handled sword) and sun. i'm going to attempt to pull off an elf (white gown & double sword on my back).

I'll just have to keep the map of that half of long Island with me. or drive the way mapquest is telling me to go which takes me along what becomes Nesconset Hwy which seems to be the top of race course. I can always take along dad's GPS. I know if I hit 25A I've gone as far as I can north then just need to head west or east.

I actually live about twenty minutes away from where tis taking place..I'm debating on going or not. It would be my first if I do decide to go.

@yamiangie: yeah nesconset highway is 347 which you can take east up to nicholls. i have no idea how far nicholls is being blocked off for though. i'll check the signs on my way home from work tomorrow. i'm just east of nicholls so i'm prolly gonna end up heading up the same way but from the other direction. i know the race starts at 9am but i'll check the signs on my way home from work tomorrow for the closure times.
@DramaAngel: it's worth the money imo and there's a lot of good stuff to check out. plus being local is a BIG bonus

It's not a bad place to go to get you feet wet because there's lots of open spaces as it's on a college campus. Also good for checking out the main part of that campus if you ever think of going there. What I like it is they have those two actors who did Star Blazers. Which is cool because that's sort of one of our fandom's original starting points. It was the first animated show syndicated with a ongoing plot in the U.S and the original Space Battleship Yamato was like the first anime series not to be based off a manga.
Also there's so much other stuff you can check out

personally i'm not into anime so i'm going for the larping, medieval stuff and authors. that's the best thing about this convention...they do have a bunch of shit for just about everyone.

i got there pretty late tonite so only got a quick look around the vendor room. ntb and they had some cool stuff. i saw tony todd and some other guy from star trek.

Was there still a line? I got there a little after five and was online for over an hour to buy a badge.
I hit the dealer's room today I hate it it's a pit you can't get out of. I really liked the Starblazers pannel.
