Not as far away, but far.
We go to our local con because it is close-by and it's LK's favorite. :) |

They have to beg their local cons to invite him.
Meanwhile, new guests! Director/Storyboarder/VA of shows such as Tenchi Muyo GXP, Nerima Daikon Brothers and Excel Saga (basically appearing in some of those series as himself!), we've got Shinichi "Nabeshin" Watanabe! Masterminds being such viral video musics like "The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny" and "Brodyquest", Lemon Demon returns, once again in a tag team-duo with those hilarious Hogwarts hooligan skit skillmen, the Ticking Noise troublemakers, Potter Puppet Pals! Virtuosos of the Steampunk comedy sketchcraft and soundtracks, Steam Powered Giraffe is making their throwback talents known at Youma for the first time! Claiming the title of winning ABC's "Official LOST Theme Competition", creators of the annual "Comic-Concert: A Night of Geek Rock" music series, bringing their own unique ambrosia of nerdy rock music, zombie apocalypse-based musicals, and Power Rangers tributes, pianist Matt "Timeline Expert" Sernaker, vocalist Erin James HATCH, and Anthony "Kroze" Kresky, Random Gibberish is having a 2nd stay! |

Only 6 days left for online registration!.........Crap!
The Detroit Marriott has reached max capacity, but you can still get rooms at the nearby Holiday Inn Express and Greektown Casino Hotel, now at special Youmacon rates. I'd go with the Holiday Inn like BananaGhost and I are, as they've got 2-bedders over Greek's 1, no deposit compared to Greek's shocking $200 hold, and complimentary breakfast. So yeah, they're gonna fill up fast. |

Yeaaah, I'm really starting to wonder if there was really any point to mean updating this topic constantly, so I'm just gonna make this brief.
4 New Guests THE ONE AND ONLY voice of Dragonball's Krillin, as well as FMA's Maes Hughes, and host of Toonami, Tom, Sonny Strait! 2nd straight Youma appearance, Metal Gear Solid 3 as Ocelot, Jack Darby in Transformers Prime, Hal Jorden in the latest Green Lantern cartoon, and Peter Parker/Spider-Man in The Spectacular Spider-Man, it's Josh Keaton! Also a Youma two-timer, VA of Rosario Vampire's Mizore Shirayuki, FMA:Brotherhood's Shao May, and Happy the Cat in Fairy Tail, we've got Tia Ballard! Last and coolest, the anime/nerd pop culture internet radio team of DJs and interviewers, with over 350 interviews and increasing by the months, 91.8 The Fan will be in attendance! AMV contest submissions end on the 5th, badge reg is now only available at-con, and the Battle Opera gaming tournaments being held over at Cobo seem pretty frikkin hype! 4 weeks to go, got my platinum reg, soon to have my hotel cash, organizing this FiM fan meetup, bring vidya games.....THINE PHYSICAL CONSTITUTIONS HAVE BEEN FINELY TUNED. So.
I needed 2 new roommates. Posted a thread on the Youmacon forums and requested to find 2 female and 18+ roommates. At first gets messages from guys or girls with boyfriends. I keep those messages sitting in my inbox for later, just in case I don't get anymore answers from anyone. Last Saturday, 2 girls who live in my city message me and say that they are interested. One I met today, the other I meet tomorrow. Plans are going quite smoothly, I would say. Also I got Youmacon's dates off from work. :3 |

Guest updates.
Keeping her perfect attendance record, VA of FMA's Winry, Caitlin Glass is baaack! Unfortunately, Josh Keaton has had to bow out this time due to upcoming projects, but we now have Tom Wayland back, doubling voicing and voice directing roles on Pokemon, Mew Mew Power, Magical DoReMi, and Yu-Gi-Oh! |

Megatokyo author Fred Gallagher RETURNS.
Pioneers of the wizard rock and roll genre, WE'VE GOT Harry and the Potters. THE YOUMACON SCHEDULE IS OUT. I'd say I'm done updating this thread. 4 days left, get your affairs in order, and get ready to have a kickin' time! |

Is anybody else thinking it would be a cool idea to see Wreck-It-Ralph opening night? I usually just skip Thursday evening at Youma because it's always lacking in activity, but HOLY SHIT Adventure Time panel! Looks like I'll be around Thursday. I'll update on Tuesday whether it'll be at the RenCenter. IF NOT, I DO have a car to go elsewhere so let me know if you want in should the RenCenter not have it for some reason. |

I'm hoping you guys can support this or help me bring it to LK's attention:
http://forums.youmacon.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12902 TFS shouldn't have to cut their panel short because of poor scheduling done by the Youmacon staff, nor should Youmacon guests have to choose between the two. |

Good News: Ren Center Theatre is showing it.
Bad News: Wreck-It Ralph Friday and Saturday at 4:30, 7:00 and 9:30 No midnight showing! I dun wanna wait that long! *throws tantrum* I'll still be coming by Thursday and anyone who wants to join me can ride along to AMC Star Fairlane 21 in Dearborn (it's a fair distance but not too terrible). I have 3 more slots available.... more if we're willing to really squeeeeeze together. I'd bring my van but there are too many dismembered sexy filipino boys in the back seat the PT Cruiser will have to do. I can even make a detour to pick up tickets early if all yall are willing to chip in a couple bucks for the gas (though I won't enforce it). The plan is to leave immediately after the Adventure Time panel is over at 11 PM (which is why I'd like to buy tickets early). We might not actually get there until a few minutes before midnight due to "hotel travel time" as I like to call it since it takes a good 10 minutes to get out of the damn building even if you know where you're going AND I like to park in places besides the fuck off expensive parking lot next to the hotel. If nobody is particular about seeing it at midnight, I'll just spoil the whole movie before you get a chance to see it. =D Last edited by TitanAura; 10-30-2012 at 09:19 PM. |

Alas, I am bafeated. Apparently not all AMCs have midnight screenings. Change of plans: Not going to the midnight showing and instead we'll just meet up and decide what showtime to buy tickets for during the weekend (in advance of course).
