Hmmm...well, I guess I would say the Harry Potter series are my favorite books because that was basically my childhood. I loved them 'til the end (I cried like a baby during the epilogue of DH). Hell, I still do...

I guess other than HP, another one of my favorite books would be 1984 by George Orwell. I really enjoyed Animal Farm as well. I'm reading the Sherlock Holmes series right now and I LOVE THEM. He's such a BAMF.

The Road is incredible. I loved it. Also, As Simple As Snow. The most interesting book I've ever read, and I still haven't quite figured it out.

I recommend both to everyone! :D

1984...simply because of its darkness, its political commentary, its writing style and [ its torture scene, which was the first torture scene I ever READ, and boy was it disgusting ]

But do graphic novels/comics count? They're books too...if they are allowed, my favourite graphic novel/comic is Watchmen.

Throwing into the ring Johnny Got His Gun, the most poignant anti-war stream of conscience I have ever read.
Prehaps more importantly, it contains a strong message on the overwealming worth of life, which will allow it to remain timeless within it's admittably dated comment on politics.

I don't read books what are actually so goood very often. Really. Why?! Maybe I don't just know good books and then I read not-so good- books but nice anyway- books.

Anyway. At this moment books what I've read and liked most are Harry Potter- books. Nah. Yeah I'm boring, but still, I love Harry Potter- books, they're my favourite. Yup.

Of course I could mention Lord of Ring- books too, they're cool, but at the same time absolutely boring. Uh. For example I always like skip Frodo and Sam parts..

Blah, GOD DAMMIT, I should find a book or books which I really really like!! I mean since I really love reading.

OMG YES. Hunger Games. I couldn't put down the 1st book until it was finished. It's been so long since I encountered an unforgettably good book like it. Can't wait 'till I have number 2!

Another series I have to suggest is His Dark Materials series. It's always so overlooked...

As for non-fiction...Why Do Men Have Nipples. :V

These were the first books I ever read, which actually kept me Enthralled from start to finish and it was nice to see a fiction writer for younger poeple who was willing to be Controversial and not treat his reader like mindless idiots withthe idea's Presented in his books.
=Though always will love Steven Erikson's Malazan book of Fallen set (the only series I have read, over 3 books which is actually worth the extra 7) so just so well deep and interwinding in their unbelievable structure, they will always be the best in my opinion, because he actually challenges his readers and pushes the boundries of fiction writing, and The Bonehunters is my fav of whole set, because competelety don't see the end coming

=Non-fiction, anything by Bill Bryson is great, but A Short History of Nearly Everything, is my fav. (though Tao Chen is also very cool)

I'd have to say Lord of the Rings because it was the first books that i'd read that suceeded in keeping me enthralled for four years! And through that book I found the myths of the Norsemen (the story of Sigurd being my favexD) and several others!

And also the books by J.V Jones; Cavern of Black Ice, Fortress of Gray Ice and Sword from Red Ice. Raif is an epic character and it's really upsetting how much the writer seems hell bent on his death and torture! (im being serious) I'm pretty sure he actually gets his ass kicked more than yugi in season 0! The storyline is brilliant and I can't wait for the next book to come out!xD
Oh and the Inheritance series is groovy even though i threw the third book across the room when I read 'the inheritance series shall be concluded in the next book'..¬¬
(the movie was an EPIC dissapointment¬¬)

For me, the best books I have read include:

The Picture Of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde
Wilde has the most amazing concepts; the amount of decadence in the society and the way Dorian evolves through the book is just.. wow.

Interview With The Vampire - Anne Rice
I have not yet read the other books in the series, but this book has so much emotion and sensory description... Empathy with Louis is so easy! This is a lot better than Twilight could ever be.

The Divine Comedy - Dante
I didn't finish this, as I was busy with school (and still am) but from the first 10 or so chapters of Inferno I read.. The description is reflected so well, it almost makes me believe there is such a place as hell.

I also love Edgar Allen Poe, however he didnt release any "books" with one story, just anthologies so... ^^;

I have other books yet to read (such as the Dexter series, ALL of sherlock holmes..) when I have, I may have to update this XD
