This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

Default Axis Powers: Hetalia

Okay, so I didn't see a thread discussing about this anime, so here I go with making my own.

Axis Powers: Hetalia
Who here enjoys this series? I know I do.
It's kind of funny how you're sitting down and enjoying an anime, but yet you're learning at the same time.

Don't know what this series is?
Well, it's pretty much countries as human beings and each episode is around 5 minutes long, filled with historical events just in a silly fashion.

The series for the most part focuses on the Allied Forces (America, England, Russia, China, and France) and the Axis Powers (Italy, Japan, and Germany).
However there are other countries that show up in the series and more than likely, more will be showing up as the third season has recently started.

first and second season

There's also a movie they are working on.

I just hope to God that Vic Mignogna doesn't play Italy, north or south, in the English Dub. That would be like being raped with Russia's pipe... *shudder* NOOOO! I do not want to become one with Russia!!

yami I agree, it only logical place to put someone like him, he is simply to mano for any of others and no where near sardonic enough to be England, though I am going to watch it in japanese as I simply like their Chibi voices more, I do hope get actual voice actors from actual countries to do different places as to heard attempts at stereotype accent is like hearing neals on a board in my opinion (and before someone brings up some amazing actor who can do it, yes are few around, but generally....etc)

-As for series itself, I like it, not always historically perfect, but then what is"???? And I think funny in cute way, not my fav series ever, but still an enjoyable one

I like the manga better. It's a bit "meaner" with its stereotypes and it's uncensored.

Gotta love good, old fashioned molestation.

Oh France, never stop being you.

I love the webcomic and manga. They make me laugh so hard and the artist sticks so many little nitpicky things in his panels that I stumble upon new things each time I re-read them. Not to mention it's absolutely hilarious in an entirely un-PC sort of way. The fandom is really awesome too. <3 The anime is just an added bonus for me.

I love the fandom of Hetalia. It's so easy to get into, and there are a good amount of people that share your love of the show, so it's easy to converse! (Like right now)
Plus, I love the fan videos for it.

The only thing I really like about the webcomic is the fact that I can see all the characters. Some of the characters just show up more in the comic than they do in the anime, so it's a bonus for me.

Gotta watch these!

I sort of have mixed feelings about the cast for the dub so far...like I am not happy with Russia or France's voice T^T. They just don't sit well with me is all >.>

Germany was alright...Japan was ok....America and England are so far the only one's I've actually liked...sort of >.>

I'm probably not going to go out of my way to watch the dub, but I'll probably get around to it...

DUB Trailer

FUNimation is releasing a lot of trailers and clips on their YouTube account, and I actually think the dub will turn out okay. The only things that bother me are Russia's voice, which I think is way too deep, and the fact that a lot of the script was (unnecessarily) altered. In some cases, it actually turned out well, but a lot of Italy's dialogue came off as creepy instead of childish and cute. Germany's dialogue (in my opinion) actually improved. xD

But anywho, I actually like how they changed the song (which tends to annoy a lot of fans)- it matches the Hetalia atmosphere. I most likely won't buy the DVD, but I will give it a chance (by watching it illegally on the internet).

I like the dub voices because it makes the show that much more racist.

I watch it occasionally to catch up...

But on another note, the same guy that did Jonouchi's voice in Japan does... Well...

Japan.

WHAT.

Just finished Season 2, and I have one question- was Roman Empire/Ancient Italy as big a ham in the original sub as much as he is in the dub?
