This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

Katy Perry criticized Lady Gaga for being too sexual or whatever in her Alejandro video, but I don't think Katy Perry can talk. She was completely naked during half the California Gurls video and squirted whipped cream around like it was breast milk. "Shut up and put your money where your mouth is," Katy. :V

I do like her voice, but her songs could be, well, better.

Music has become more about how good the singer looks like compared to the actual song content. Its ridiculous, unless you can sing as good as Susan Boyle then you just can't compete. When will music ever be about the music again?

It can be about the music as long as one chooses to make it about the music.

This is more prevalent in Pop music than anywhere else. Unless you think Lil' Wayne is a real looker...

Considering how vapid and generic modern mainstream pop is, all they've got is their looks at this point.

I'm glad you mentioned that, because that irked me too. I enjoy Lady Gaga's music more than I do Katy Perry's anyway.

I definitely agree with you on this. A lot of people judge a person's talent based on their looks, which doesn't make ANY sense (i.e. Susan Boyle's audition on BGT). The industry will pay more attention if you have the looks to boot. I think it should be based on talent, but a lot of people won't pay attention to a star unless they have sex appeal.

I also agree that mainstream pop is most guilty of this, having been reduced to 'who can look the best'. I feel like modern R&B falls victim to putting looks above everything too, although the difference is many popular R&B artists can actually sing. I mean, consider Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Usher and a lot of those singers. They are all gorgeous people, and they sing wonderfully. I cannot think of one unattractive singer in that genre (at least, right now).

Even so, beauty above talent occurs in every music genre. That's just how it is.

To be fair, the video for Alejandro is quite possibly the gayest thing I've ever seen.

I'm VERY tired of both "I kissed a girl and I liked it" and "Po-po-po-pokerface, pa-pa-pokerface, ma-ma-ma-ma".
GOD they're annoying!

I don't like Metallica. The singer is annoying to me. The music does nothing for me, unless it's their first LP. That's it. Also, not a fan of Demilich so far. The vocals are annoying.

Well, I do like Metallica, but I agree - I don't like the singer too much at all.

I actually quite enjoy Lady Gaga. She seems to be in it for the art. She's been in music since she was young, as well. Her music is extremely sexual, but not that bad.

Besides, it's pretty tame compared to what some bands have been putting out for years. There's a metal genre dedicated to porn. Yeah...

Unless he's slowed down 800%, Justin Bieber is worthless.

Hm...
I find I don't dislike music much, but the artists themselves.
Like, I don't like Lady Gaga anymore because I found out she's hardcore into drugs for her inspiration, but I still love most of her music.

In general, I hate repetitive songs that are considered "today's best music".
Like "Like a G6".
SO ANNOYING.

I'm exactly the same. :| Money and popularity at the expense of very little effort or talent. It really annoys me.

Huh - she's one of the few pop singers whose voice I actually like. It's different and kind of nice.
Still, I don't like the genre and therefore don't listen to her music.

I HATE Justin Bieber, he is a girl! His voice is so annoyingly high pitched! I loved it when he was hit with a bottle! The remix of it on youtube is awesome.
