First off, Phrasing. Second, in the US a bystander with a concealed-carry-hatchet could have politely, but firmly, axed him to stop before things got out of hand.

I wear sandals when I go to church or out somewhere and need nice shoes but to hot for closed in shoes. I prefer wearing no shoes but cannot get away with no shoes when I go to work because of WPH&S can't wear sandles to work either. I don't like flip flops. They hurt my feet. I only wear them when I have to many prickles between my house and the chicken pen.
