This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

Shame I missed the discussion on lemons, limes and other citrus related stuffs...
The gender speaks for itself ^-^

As for the story... It could work, but you'd need to be very, very careful about how you go about writing it. As stated on another thread, I'm not exactly the biggest fan of Miho, but, I'm not going to stand in the way of those who do. Differing opinions, freedom of thought and all that jazz.
Quite a lot of people seperate the Yami's from the Hikari's in fanfiction. Somehow, it just makes it more interesting, however, a lot don't bother trying to explain how nor why. Kudos to you for that, but then, I'm not entirely sure if it's nessessary...
Anyways, best of luck and I look forward to seeing how that turns out for ya. :P

thanks.
I try to stay as canon as possible with my fics, so I usualy try to work WITH existing storylines if I can. since my story isn't AU I wanted to give a reason why they have seperate bodies. It's only fair to the readers.

Also, I'm not the biggest miho fan myself, but I believe her character has a lot of potential. she was not as prominent in the manga as in season 0, so most of the data we have on her is blah anyway. but based on what I know of her, I plan on giving her at least a little character growth.

the fic itself is gonna be Bakura/Ryou centric. the story is going to be all about them. I'm a hard core Tendershipper.

the only reason Miho ended up in it at all was because Malik ends up having daughters, but I could never decide who was their mother, since no one is worthy of the egyptian bishie. But since the pic of the girls I drew has them with poney tails and ribbons, I decided to make it Miho, and just throw in a mention of how Bakura got Miho off Ryou's back by introducing her to Malik.

It's not really something I'm shipping, it's more just some random informtion. but since this is the shipping thread, I wanted an opinion of it.

Guys, why not give the girl a chance? Just because you don't see a pairing happening doesn't mean someone else can't. Give her a chance to express her opinions and keep your mind open. A person who has made up their mind before reading is a lost reader.
As stated above, I'm not the biggest Miho fan. Miho bashing always makes me smile and I don't really see her getting together with Marik, but I'm willing to let someone try and persuade me otherwise...

because from the summary and info she gave about the fic I can already tell that its going to be shit.
And Malik would definitely not get along with Miho at all. :I if they knew anything about his character then that would be obvious.

I honestly don't want to start an argument here, just give the girl a chance. No-one, except the original author, or in this case manga-ka, knows everything about a fandom. That's why people write fanfiction. It's a place to explore different areas of a fandom we enjoy and possibly find out something new or come across an idea which could work, but we wouldn't have thought about on our own.

For example, the chaaracter of 'Heba' won't be found anywhere in the original manga nor the anime, yet he commonly comes up in fanfiction. Most authors have agreed that if Yuugi has an Ancient Egyptian counterpart or ancestor, it would be this character. 'Heba' itself means 'Game' in Egyptian. This character wouldn't have come into existance without fanfiction and someone's mad idea.

It may seem a little OTT, but Einstein once said "If at first an idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it." You don't seem to like this idea at all, but don't discourage the person from writing it. To look at it harshly, it's their time, not yours. You don't have to read it... Let the writer write what she wishes.

To quote many fics out there "Don't like it? Don't read it."

Amen Basket, Amen. If it was supposed to be based around canon and existing storylines then it would be so obvious that Malik would not go for a girl who is only interested in money and gifts from her boy. Malik deserves better and he will get better. Can't wait to read your review Basket.

I'd give her a chance if her idea wasn't shitty as hell. Once again, if she knew anything about the characters personalities then she would know that Malik and Miho would not get along, let alone date or have children. (Which is possibly the worst thing you can do with a non canon pairing) She would also know that tendershipping in the way she seems to want to write it would also never happen. Bakura doesn't give a flying fuck about Ryou, and if he had his own body, he wouldn't waste time ~dating~ him.

Thinking up new ideas like that (Though I don't like giving characters 'ancient egyptian counterparts' who don't have one in the series) is completely different than taking a cliche, out of character, uninteresting idea and writing a fic about it.

Having an idea that is 'absurd' is different than having an idea that is horrid. There are in fact bad ideas, and that fic is a fine example of one. And I will discourage them if the idea presented is awful, which it happens to be. If they want to write something like that, make it original fiction. They don't have to ruin this fandom more.

From what I've noticed, only bad, preteen fanfiction writers use that when they try to write a yaoi pairing which ends up being unintentionally hilarious. I'll read what I want, and I'll tell them exactly why or why not their fic sucks.

well, you can stop worrying, I've decided not to use the pairing. I decided to use the girls for a different project

I was never really serious about the pairing anyway....I wasn't trying to convince everybody to love it, it was just a thought that was in my head.

M-shipping is FAIL

My personal fave shippings are:

Tendershipping
puppyshipping
puzzleshipping
citronshipping ^^
deathshipping
theifshipping
Bakushipping
Shrimpshipping
& peaceshipping

Also, I am in my twenties, and I'm a very popular fanfic writer. I've had a Wiki and a tv trope made about my fics. I'm also a published poet. I'm currently in college now for filmmaking. My first Project is a slasher called Ironface, which right now is my baby and get's most of my attention. I'm also working on an original Manga called Hell's Belle, it's getting neglected right now though :'(

will someone please slap me and get me back to work on Hell's Belle before I lose all interest in it?

and also for thinking of M-shipping...man that's the last time I drink caffinated coffee at 4:00 in the morning...I'm tainting my own story ideas...

thanks for the support though, eyecandy ::hugs::

but seriously, somebody please shoot me for trying pair up Miho and Malik!

So because no one but Kazuki Takahashi knows everything there is to know about Yuugiou, we can't state that an idea is OBVIOUS garbage? Sure, you can write whatever you want, as OOC as you want, but don't expect us to be all "omg so kawaii desuuu ^___^ nya," if we think it sucks, we'll tell you.

Yes, and basically every fanfiction I've seen with 'Heba' mentioned has sucked from what I remember. I don't know when 'most authors' came to mean 'most BAD authors,' but whatever you say. 'Ancient Egyptian-counterpart' or not, it's still an OC, and OCs are terrible nearly 100% of the time.

There IS a difference between asbsurd and completely shittastic. Malik does not need a little fangirl going after him, even if Miho does outgrow it somewhat, that's basically what her character is, she's a ditzy, selfish, somewhat manipulative teenage girl (from the season zero anime, anyway), hardly the type of person Malik needs. And as Basketcat stated, Yami no Bakura doesn't GIVE a flying fuck about Ryou, if he had his own body he'd leave in a heartbeat, they wouldn't be ~*~dating~*~.

And, again, as Basketcat stated, most situations where 'don't like, don't read' comes into play is.. bad fanfiction. Constructive criticism, as an author you either learn to take and it and use it to make your ideas better, or you ignore it and wallow in your shit (like a certain author /cough S'Meyer). Or, better yet, when you get offended by the constructive criticism. That always amuses me.

/coughcoughcough. Back on topic? Uhmmm, I've taken an interest in Malik/Ryou lately.. I sort of wonder if it'd work out. Somehow, I imagine not.

Eh, I doubt it would work as a romantic pairing. I can see them being friends though, they're both odd and have their own quirks that would make them interesting to each other. But since I don't see either of them being good in relationships I don't think they're that compatible.
(And besides lol, I don't like to pair Ryou up with much anyone, really)

Yeah, I doubt a romantic relationship would really work (just for the sheer fact that Malik must have trust issues to the extreme, not going into issues of characters clashing), and they don't really have any contact in the manga/anime at all, really. It's mostly YnBakura and Malik who communicate.
(Haha, o rly~? Why not? Want him to suffer~? )

Yeah. I mean if it is done right, the pairing might be able to work, but usually everyone writes it as either super fluffy OMG INNOCENT KAWaII HIKARI'S NYAA ^___^; or bad porn (with lawl, sexually innocent Ryou). Pretty much, which could explain how they were to start talking if one wanted to do a fic with them in it, but.
(Lol I don't know really. None of the characters suit him well. I mean I like fanart of him in certain pairings, like with Honda, Jounouchi, or Otogi, but I dont particularly like those pairings. Except for maybe Honda/Ryou, l-lol. I like to look at him from an induvidual standpoint, because his character can be developed so much more like that. Most fics with Ryou are just ~kawaii~ yaoi with little uke Ryou, which is just dull to me. I think he's aesthetic on his own, not attractive in a sexual way, and pairing him up in fics just ruins that for me.)

Lolol, and to combat sexually innocent Ryou, you get slut!Malik, which frankly to me is a mystery because I can't see Malik sleeping around in any situation whatsoever.
(Aah, yeah, I know what you mean. I could see them maybe together for a while, but a lasting relationship probably wouldn't work out, the characters clash too much. Hn.)

Yeah, it's a shame, it really is. I remember looking around and I found a Deathshipping fic where YnMalik was a serial killer. Made me incredibly sadfaise hahaha.

well, I wrote Ryuk Returns (has been given a trope on TV Tropes and Iodoms)

the Demons! A JCA fic Series (ongoing, very popular)

an ongoing Inuyasha fanfic known most popularly as the SSS saga (due to titles all posses three words that start with S. so far there are 5 parts. a sixth is in the works, though no work has been done as of yet. (has a WIKIA,which I was given control of by three fans as a b-day present)

I've written several YGO oneshots, and a variety of other stories, including Resident Evil. And I'm currently working on my yugioh brainchild known as Sands of Egypt, which, though it has not recieved as many reviews as I'd like, has been given positive reviews all around. new chapter is in progress.

What is wrong with writing a what if fic? What if Malik got together with Miho? It would make for a hilarious fic. Picture it. Malik visits Domino to see Yugi and his friends. He notices Miho somewhere and this is the quiet reserved Miho from the manga, not the obnoxious materialistic twit in the Toei anime. Miho finds Malik's energy and over exuberance very attractive at first much to Honda's dismay. Later on, Miho becomes exhausted by Malik and breaks it off with him. Ryo could be there to comfort him while he drinks something non-alcoholic like non-alcoholic beer ;D He thinks he's getting drunk. There is your summary for a plot. Add in the meat!

Boredom? Or for bad slash/sex, it probably has to do with the girl's fantasy that they can act out or they are embarassed to go buy books with sex themes. Also what Basket said.

Real Literature > fanfiction. Once my break starts, I have a huge list of books I want to read. So not spending time on the hole called the internet.
