This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

J.J. Abrams directs a Star Trek movie. I want to see this movie, just for my love of Star Trek.

I hope there isn't a thread already discussing this topic. <_<

I think it's going to be fairly decent, however I'm not a diehard Star Trek fan to get mad over this movie.

I'll watch for simon pegg. I'm going to have to try not looking at Quinto because I'll worry about him trying to cut open crew members heads.

Oh my God. This is definitely going to be one of the best movies of 2009. Awesome action, characters nicely fleshed out, and great acting. A must watch even if you're not a Trekkie!

Definitely. The storyline isn't bad, as well. OK, maybe a bit naive, but it didn't ruin the movie for me.

mmmm no
theres no william shatner or leonard nemoy
i am not a star trek fan, but the movie where they went to the 1960's was actually pretty funny, what was it called? Star trek revisited or something

Shatner OWNS

1: There is Leonard Nimoy, and not only as a cameo or a background character.
2: Star Trek: Voyage Home. Yes, it was funny.
3: Watch the film before you rate it, because Chris Pine is definitely a match for William Shatner.

Of course the resident closet trekkie had to watch the new movie.

Die Hard Canon Trek Lovers might be a little upset, but if you like a good action/ sci fi movie/ that has a modicrum of intelligence you will be greatly please.

I personally liked the movie and can't wait for the DVD to be released.

Shatner as Kirk kind of DIED in Generations and Shatner HIMSELF is a Little OLD now to play a younger version of himself. Still Chris Pine does a good job.

I would say 8/10.
I like the old canon trek, but this one was certainly interesting and thought provoking.

Great film! Loved the direction they went in, felt like it appeals to non-Trekkies, but it's not so wild as to scare the core, diehard fanbase away n.n

Though Chris Pine as Kirk was great! I rather liked the guy playing McCoy too.

Well the only way to bring back the original McCoy and Scott is to have a Seance. But the actors that potrayed the perspective characters did all right.

RIP DEFOREST KELLEY AND JAMES DOOHAN

Karl Urban came damn close. In some parts I thought he was channeling the spirit of DeForest Kelley.

IMO: he was hit and miss in a few areas. The only Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy is DeForest Kelley

Watched it, great fun. slight plot hole involving the red matter, but worth the watch.

I've never seen the original Star Trek and never even been remotely into it before, but the movie was just awesome. J.J certainly did a good job with it...

Explain.

Great movie, although the story isn't that new, it's basically a standard hero story.
But effects are off the scale. Cast is awesome. And constant hints to the other series/movies are just great!
