This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

At the risk of this just turning into a Jhonen Vasquez fanbot thread I'll post it anyway. Anyone else that loved this show when it was around? It's one of the shows that makes me remember that Nickelodeon really did have some qulaity programming among the crap.

So messed up it's the only thing worth watching at the time.

I like how being able to yell regularly without your voice going out was a major requirement for this show.

Back when this show was on Nick had a damn good lineup of shows. Now....they suck....a lot.

Zim was great. Shame they got rid of it for Rugrat spin-offs.........the horror.....

I think they cancelled it because it was just too random and a bit sick for a kids show.

It really did have some good shows back in the day: Doug, original Rugrats and Aaahh!!! Real Monsters are the ones I remember the most.
Actually add Pete and Pete to that list, I absoloutely loved that show and the original shorts before it went full length.

Invader Zim was great and was the only thing Nick did right. Adult Swim tried to buy it from them, but Nick wouldn't let them. It is a shame, Cartoon Network would let it run forever.

I just wish they would've let it run through to the end of season two. I'd give a small limb to see "The Trial" and "Return of Keef".

Adult Swim tried to buy it?!

DAMMIT, why didn't they get it?

If Adult Swim had bought it, Jhonen would have been ecstatic. He said he would have done more had (it not been cancelled and had) Nickelodeon given him the artistic freedom... MAN.

Ahem...

And now we'll never know, sine Jhonen's said he wouldn't be interested in working on the show again.

Yeah he's not even done much work in comics recently apart from some writing on one that I'm fairly sure he used a pen name for.

I imagine that'd be all because of Nickelodeon itself. Whenever they've got a property, they don't normally let it go even if they aren't buying new episodes. And more often than not, if they let it go, they sell/rent the property to another Viacom owned network. About the only non-Viacom channel that picked up a former Nick property would be Disney with Doug. (At least I can't think of any others.)

I had to wiki it to remember so this might not be 100% accurate but he was apparently credited as Chancre Scolex and the comic was called Everything Can Be Eaten. Also there's another one called Jellyfist which I hadn't heard of until I went to look this up.

Invader Zim was pretty good at first, but it really started to loose quality as it progressed up to the point where it was just plain retarded.

I atually like the later episodes better (sometimes). At least in regard to Dib-he really mellowed out a lot from the early episodes, thusly allowing himself to be likeable.

Just so everyone knows, it's Everything Can Be Beaten. Also Jellyfist is the most horrific and disgusting thing ever written. I love it.

Ok, now back on topic. I love Invader Zim. It was one of the best shows ever on TV. It's sad that it was cancelled, but oh well.

It's not dead if people are still interested in writing here, right?

I wonder what a "Squee" cartoon would be like?

Sorry, I didn't know it would be a problem. I'm really new to the forum, and figured it would be fine since I haven't seen any rules or anything written about it. I apologize.

Invader ZIM was my first animation love. The color in that show is freakin' incredible, and I'm just plain infatuated with the characters. I can't believe it's been gone for this many years... <img src='/images/emoticons/smiley6.png'>

I never watched this until Nick recently started airing it again, and I feel like a part of my childhood was finally pieced together xD
